How Is the Supernova Assassination Canon?

This is my first thread in 3 months BTW.

Anyway How does the spartan Pull out a Plasma Grenade out if nowhere?

Seriously Just look at this Assassination

Supernova Assassination

My take is that War Games is canon, but how we experience it as players is not.

If you’re really keen to come up with an explanation, maybe we just steal it off the other Spartan or something.

Grenades have been pulled out of no where since Halo CE… Nothing new there

If you mean how did the Spartan get a grenade without picking one up, well; being a video game, that’s obviously fake in the same way that Spartan IVs pull a knife from nowhere or NPCs have unlimited ammo.

Simulation magic.

How does the Spartan get spare clips for their rifle? How does the Spartan pick up grenades without ever physically touching it? The world may never know.

They have a compartment in their wrist that stores the knife. It doesn’t come out of nowhere.

i thought they a spring in their wrist that shoots the knife out so they can catch it and use it. i forgot what assassination but in one of the assassination they fling it in the air and catch it.

Idk but gonna be my new favorite assassination.

That’s the beauty of it all being a simulation now. Technically they could put whatever they want in and justify it (I’m not complaining in this case, though. Even though it’s ridiculous and over the top I love that assassination)

That’s my issue with this assassination, cool as it may be.

Also, does the explosion from the assassination cause damage? Like, can it hurt enemies or friends who are in close enough proximity to the assassination animation?

I’m just wondering if you throw the body at other players does it kill them? It would be amazing if it did LOL

I don’t know how you managed to both continue and disprove my point at the same time.

Well, if a Spartan had a plasma grenade at their disposal on the battlefield, and are in a position to perform that assassination, then they’d perform that assassination. That’s why it’s canon.

And thinking strategically, sticking a plasma grenade to someone is a guaranteed death. Rather than using your knife which can lead to more potential mess ups in execution or rather striking in the wrong anatomical areas unintentionally. Despite all the training, people can still mess up.

The only danger here is that a plasma grenade has a very wide kill circle due to its extreme temperatures. So it’d be hard to quickly move out of its beast radius. As such, it’s reasonable to conclude that this assassination is trained to Spartans who are certified in high skill set scenarios and missions.

Also, this animation is only one animation. It isn’t the only way in performing this assassination in reality. Remember, everything you see in fiction isn’t exactly how it is portrayed in its universe’s reality. Hope this helps.

Rule of Cool boys. Try not to be so stuck up. Just have fun.

They could take this in an interesting direction, imagine if assassinations in future titles were more contextual…

For instance, when you initiate the assassination, there is a small window where you can input, which would determine the assassination used.

For example: Pressing RT would trigger an assassination where you use your equipped weapon in an execution. Or pressing LT makes you bludgeon your opponent with your equipped weapon.

They could make it so that you could equip your favorite assassinations to each input button, allowing you to choose which assassination to use on the fly.

It would be way too much work to make though.

BECAUSE IT’S AWESOME

…but also, c’mon, does EVERYTHING have to be super duper canon in MULTIPLAYER of all things?! I almost liked it better before Halo 4 when we were left to just sort of ASSUME that multiplayer was some kind of training arena somewhere in the universe. Now that it’s canon, well… Everything has to be clarified!! Too much.

I do think if you managed to pull off the supernova and throw the body into a group of enemies, it should do damage and count as a Cluster Luck and Hail Mary. Also if you do it in a confined space and you or an ally is too close, you should for the very least lose your shielding.

343 are following Monty Oum’s rule.
THE RULE OF COOL, baby.

SCIENCE!!!

Honestly, I don’t know where the stickie came from, but lots of armor sets in Halo 5 dont have a knife sheath on them.

Why do I Feel Stupid Now…

The Rule Of Cool Is The Answer.

This will probably be the last thread In A Long Time By me.
