How is the store system predatory? (Honest question.)

who says we have to enter a contract with a company to want a good product?

I’m talking about what they said they were going to do but didn’t.

Like when they said customization will be unlockable thru progression, but I digress.

I’m going to go buy the battle pass with my MS points that I saved up… or I may put points towards RE8 still undecided.

Nah cause you need something to tempt you into buying it.

You can get colours and stuff in the campaign - that’s progression. You also get stuff off the battle pass. That’s progression.

I refer you to my earlier posts!

I’m good buddy. I think right now looking at what’s there. It’s a fraction of what’s to come. I said before… it’s like they’ve released a demo. That’s cool if we get more.

You see I like shooting aliens and beating Spartans - and it’s pretty cool so far. I don’t play many hours a weeks. Other responsibilities. So for me. It’s a good game and I’m not out to change it.

They have ripped stuff that would normally be apart of the game, such as colors and literally almost every single armor piece in the entire game and are now selling back to us at an inflated price.

Every halo game ever released up to this point had customization that was free and colors that you could choose out of the gate. For instance, my Spartan has always been white and yellow. That isn’t an option anymore unless I buy the battle pass and play for a ridiculous amount of time to get a COLOR. Not to mention I can only where that color on one set of armor. Essentially they took away all customization to sell it back to us.

There is also the FoLO effect (Fear of Losing Out) causing people who have a problem with spending or of course children with mom’s credit card buying everything as it comes out. The system is extremely predatory.

Especially when you consider the fact of the literal false advertising on 343’s part and the constant lying. They openly said that the game would have QUOTE “The most customization of any Halo and all of it can be earned from playing the game, nothing behind a paywall.”

Here we are finding out that was a blatant lie and in fact the opposite is true as there is almost nothing in the entire game that u can earn without paying for it.

343 out to be ashamed with this release but they aren’t. Nah they are taking a “much deserved” break for New Years knowing full well they are gonna be milking the whales with this no effort trash they put out.

I wouldn’t use the term predatory - but selling old Halo: Reach armor doesn’t sit well with me.

Hmmm how can they sell something back to you, which you never owned in the first place.

Brick red was in H3 - you still have that on your disc!

Were you okay buying the MCC and doing the same achievements and campaigns as you once may have done between 2001 and 2010

  1. lack of customization for free
  2. lies upon lies on the “millions” of combos of items but literally being locked to only a few cores
  3. items in stores being old items which should of been in the battlepass to begin with
  4. the items in the shop requiring A CORE from the battlepass to even equip and they’re usually in the 20 dollar pack

also on number 2, you straight up cannot have anything on separate cores so they straight lock out putting items on the yoroi core without having to either a. BUY IT or b. unlock it through the tenrai mini bp.

This also includes the fact the “free battlepass” they showed in the trailer was lying so much and misleading thinking we could get the large kitanas in the bp for free but was locked behind the event shop

You don’t get extra colors you just get the other default colors you got In Halo 5. They gave us 10 out of the I think 48 other colors we got in 5.

Also locking emblems and Coatings to specific things and selling it to you 4 times is not more content.

The 2000 credit bundle is just selling you the same emblem 4 times.

They are being very creative with this store it’s just recycled content ad double dipping.

I don’t think the prices are predatory; they’re ridiculous, but predatory is inaccurate on that front.

What is predatory, though, is the system where they’ll sell you an item that makes it look like you actually get the item to use wherever you want, but you actually only get it on one core. Even worse, they’ll sell you “11” items in a pack but it’s actually only 5 items, but a bunch of them are two or three times for each core. And worst of all, the battle pass advertises over 100 items to unlock, but many of them are repeats of the same exact item to use in different places (i.e. Nameplate, armor emblem, vehicle emblem, weapon emblem as four separate items when it’s obviously just one item).

So, I understand whee people are coming from.

For real, they are selling you the same.item.mlre than once, or you get duplicate items and they say you get 4 when it’s the 4 of the same emblem

Of 343 is going to sell us stuff like Coatings Emblems and Charms…

They need to make them universal to everything. Don’t sell me a coating one week and lock it to one core than the next week try selling me the same coating but now it’s for the AR…

Just make it universal right off the bat and be more creative with the content you sell

This pretty much sums it all up

This right here!
This isn’t even about video games truly but rather humanity and what these greedy and immoral people will do to this world and species if left unchecked.

in otherwords, instead of Halo 5’s Req packs, the main store rotations serve as “a giant Req pack”

or more accurately one of those “look at this fancy heirloom right here for 9.99, don’t look away now before she’s sold ou- ah and there she goes she’s sold out for good, onto the next one!!” so to speak?
