How is ranked doubles as a solo player?

I quite liked playing solo in Halo 5, got some really cool teammates. Especially when we used mics, had some great games including an insane 25-24 win after a huge comeback. Compared to Halo 3 which was a terrifying experience to play solo doubles that I hated ha.

Has anyone played it yet and how have you got on?

Also as an aside, if any UK players fancy running any doubles, feel free to add me. Before the resets I’ve hit Onyx in crossplay and solo/duo, playing by myself. Don’t know how this will translate to doubles as heard some pros were placed really low I think??

It varies. The population is pretty small so you can get a lot of skill variance on and across teams. Virtually everyone I know placed Gold so the CSRs are kind of wonky (people whose Open ranks varied from platinum to onyx). There are definitely good players with mics that are fun to play with. There are also players who just run off and die. It is what it is.

It’s currently taking around 5 minutes to find a match at 4PM on Friday on East Coast Servers but it’s better in the evening.

youll find a million onyx and some bronze level players all in gold ranks the variation is extreme as if most people just get dumped into gold to start off

onyx to bronze lvl of skill

That is bizarre, I placed in Platinum V.

Quite a few players skill levels didn’t feel right to me also.

I played all 10 matches solo, but unfortunately only 2 players used mics.

If you go in with a mic you will do better than 90% of players but I suggest finding a teammate through various methods like forums or discord channels because a lot of players for some reason go into ranked without a mic than proceed to get crushed by the other team and end up with a negative k/d by people who probably do have mics.

Yeah I think it may be adjusting as the season goes on. I just played with someone who was Plat 5 in Doubles and Plat 4 in Open.
