How is Infinite rated T but every other Halo M?

When Infinite launched I saw Halo was rated “T” again. Then I really got thinking. Did Halo really ever deserve a rating higher than “T”? You see Halo 4 was rated M and it was about the same level of violence as 5 had. I mean 5 has assassinations in theory more violent. Then you look at games like Reach and ODST where blood was almost nonexistent. And then 2 and 3 weren’t that bad. I understand maybe the cussing but I mean I’ve heard way worse in games. Halo 1 I guess kinda deserved the rating because you shot a guy once and the whole map seemed to show the after effect. Lastly though I do want to point out that Halo shared the same rating as games like Doom and Gears. Those are WAY worse and halo. I still have always played every halo despite its ratings but I still feel like Halo should have always been teen.

For the first few games its from the Flood. You can gib them into pieces.

Also Halo games should bring back the amount of blood that was in CE.

Halo 5 is also T. Infinite isn’t the only one. Not sure about MCC.

MCC is still M. Which isn’t suprising given all the games in it were rated M.

No blood or gore, I believe its why they got rid of it.

I’m guessing this ‘T’ thing is a US rating?

I don’t think any title released under 343 has been rated over T (MCC doesn’t count since it’s essentially just a fancy wrapper of M rated games)

I think 343 just wanted a broader audience.

They been playin it safe, mebbe even tryna cater to the eSports demographic. Halo has the ability and the backing to go balls to the wall and cut loose. Create it’s own events. Instead of just chasing whatever… This is

Ehhh rating is kinda irrelevant at this point ain’t it? I mean, how many kids be playing these M games online?

A T rating is safe. That’s what it is. Safe and disappointing. Like bad -Yoink!-.

Deep down, how many people want more… Safe?

Halo won’t really be back to its former self until they bring back the flood, or do what Reach did, and make the Covenant more of a horror element (them not speaking english was very key in making things feel less cheesy to me.)

Yeah in Infinite the banished doesn’t make me worried when I fight them. In reach the covenant felt dangerous and out for bloodlust but in Infinite the banished kinda feel like aliens with souped up armor and weapons.

Exactly!

Reach built some really wonderful moments that made the covenant more scary - the first encounter with Zealots at the relay early on… the encounter with drones in the caves or in the tower during new alexandria… or the beginning of exodus where you’re wounded and armed only with a pistol then get swarmed by suicide grunts.

Pretty sure Halo 4 was rated M

Halo has always been pegi16. Alwaya been considered a teen franchise outsode the US.

They got rid of the blood for the T rating trying to bring in broader audiences.
As if anyone gives a -Yoink!- about ratings, i was like 8 when i played H2 at my cousins back then lmao

Yes, it is. “T” is for “teens” “M” is for Mature/adults “E” is for “everyone”.

Now that video games aren’t part of fringe society, a lot more people care. I won’t let my kid play games rated much higher than their age, and I know a couple of my friends with kids who are the same way.

It matters a lot more now than it did before. That is why 343 made the push to make their games all “T” so it could be associated with games like Fortnite, Destiny, Overwatch, and many other child friendly shooter games.

Not really. Society has proven that mature rated movies and games can be raging successes if handled correctly.

While some parents won’t let their children play those games, I don’t really feel it’s an impediment to success.

…legit didn’t realize overwatch was T. Lot of r34
