How is Halo 4 supposed to be the King??

Halo 4 came out, got a bunch of great reviews such as a 98 from IGN, and everyone was excited for the return of Master Chief. H4’s Metacritic is at an 87 and Black Ops 2’s sits at a solid 83. You can say that both have a “B” rating. People insisted that Halo 4 will dethrone Call of Duty and “save” gaming.

Story:

Halo 4- Although some are saying it was brilliant, more people are saying it was a terrible campaign what was nothing that “hit switch A to continue” etc etc. People claim that it’s bland, the writing is terrible, and that there are only a handful of good parts in it.

BO2- I honestly have not seen one complaint about the BO2 story, other than the fact that some people don’t know the characters and their story from the first game. People are amazed at how well written Menendez was, and how Treyarch delivered such a great story where player choices actually impact the narrative in a huge way. I think there are 6 or 7 different endings.

Multiplayer:

H4- People keep complaining that it’s copying CoD, and that it’s no where close to being a “Halo game”. I hear that if Halo wasn’t in the title, it would be a laughable attempt at MP. Others are angry saying that there is absolutely no skill seeing the fact that the killstre- I mean ordinance drops are random meaning that one guy can get a needler whereas the other gets a Rocket Launcher. I also hear complaints about how there is something wrong with every wepaon, and that everything needs balance.

BO2- Everyone is pleased with the Pick 10 system which allows hundreds of different class choices. Never use your secondaries? Get rid of them and get another perk of primary attatchment. No need for a 3rd tier perk? Get rid of it and add another tactical grenade. That, and the addition of Legue Play (Seasonal competitve 4v4 matches), Elite Premium being free, the fact that it’s still that smooth 60 fps fluid gmaeplay, new game modes, etc make this CoD pretty dang innovative.

Co-Op:

Spartan Ops- 343’s secret wepaon is a flop. All it consists of is short missions that have you hit a button, defend waves of stuff, and that’s it. You have to wait a whole week to play more…if you’re not already done with it as a game mode. The only people who defend it are saying that they’re “in it for the story”, and those claim that they like it better than Firefight which I have no clue how. I doubt people will buy the second season.

BO2: Zombies. Not only is Tranzit 12x the size of some of the previous zombies maps, but they added things like buildables and the Zombie Bus. Zombies is taken to a completely new level and it’s funner than ever. The fact that there is so much choice in Tranzit is mind blowing. If that’s not enough, they added a 4v4vzombies mode called grief where you can take your squad of firends and see how well you do agaisnt others, and they also added Survival which takes a location from Tranzit and makes it to where you see how long you can survive in that specific area. In addition, they added stats and leaderboards for all this so that way dedicated Zombie players can actually feel accomplished and have things to work for.

With all that in mind, how in the world is Halo 4 supposed to be the king of Xbox in its current position?

I definitely expected a lot more from Spartan Ops and since the missions are short there is no point of doing it with a team.

Halo 4, like every other videogame ever, simply wasn’t as good as it had the potential to be.

> I definitely expected a lot more from Spartan Ops and since the missions are short there is no point of doing it with a team.

Exactly the point. And once you’re done, there is hardly any sort of replay value.

I think multiplayer on Halo 4 is more balanced, and I’d prefer to play a game than requires at least a bit of skill. Your point about ordnance only applies to one game mode, and they aren’t completely random, there is an X chance for X drop.

To be honest, as a Halo vet and a CoD vet, I see no skill difference between the two. I find both just as easy.

The OP writes heavily in favor of black-0ps, his oppinion is biased.

I see it clearly.

Not really. I pointed out more stuff for BO because they have better innovations whereas everything 343 has done with Halo 4 is frowned upon.

Don’t listen to reviews. Play the game for yourself. I’m sure reviews are biased or paid for good reviews.

That said, Halo 4 has issues but it’s certainly not a terrible game.

If Halo would’ve stayed more like Halo, instead of resembling COD in a Halo Universe, Halo 4 would’ve been the king.

COD is meant to be a fun casual game. Halo is meant to be casual but also competitive. We need ranks back

You have to BUY spartan ops second season? HELL NO, season 1 is ok for some xp and at least its free but I would never have spent money on it. Season 2 would have to improve considerably for me to consider spending on it.

ITT: COD fanboyism

Quick question. What is CoD?

Yup. Every season after 1 will cost money. I doubt it will have a huge following.

> I play halo because it FEELS like a game, i dont want to run about with a soldier from the US/UK military, id rather run about as a full iron clad super soldier because the gameplay is more intresting

??? I’m pretty sure CoD “FEELS” like a game too. You say that you don’t want to run around with a military soldier from the US/UK, but do you realize that Spartans are just elite military units who happen to have better armor? Your comment made no sense.

I didn’t see one person saying that Halo was going to be COD’s death OR one person saying that H4 was going to save gaming.

COD is here to stay and gaming doesn’t need saving, the industry is alive and well.

343 may or may not make more spartan ops seasons after season 1.
