My friend (who is an avid CoD player) tried to play Halo 4 the other day and it was hysterical, he was terrible at it and didn’t even get a single kill. I find both games to be very different from each other in all honesty.

Out of curiosity… did your friend enjoy the game? Did he hate it? What were his reactions?
Halo 4 has Perks, loadouts, kill cams, grenade indicators, plethora of one shot kill weapons, care packages. Those are just a few reasons. Halo 4 is not exactly like COD but it has MANY cod features. I am not even going to waist anynmore of my time trying to explain something so obvious.
Loadouts
Sprinting
Killcams
Killstreak bonuses
Ranking system indicating time spent playing not skill
Catering to casuals
Perks
Weapon skins
Grenade indicators
Instant respawn
Commendations (they obviously weren’t called that in CoD but the same basic principle. At least in the last one I played)
All of these are things that were NEVER present in Halo until Reach or 4
They are also all borrowed from CoD or a similar game

OP - Thank you! I get so tired of seeing Halo 4 = COD when the two games are nothing… absolutely nothing alike besides a person can draw similarities in attributes… Nothing more!!!

Okay, that was actually kind of funny.
And theres alot of features that seem to be from COD and put in Halo 4 as some people have said. Never played it, never will, and I will never care for COD. I do not want the fight to be detirmined by whoever shoots first. But I’m sure some of these things were made better in Halo 4 compared to COD.
People are putting stupid thing Halo and CoD has in common like sprint for example, I find this dumb. Add jumping to your list and shooting too facepalm. Why do I bother people been complaining about every Halo game.

Last time I checked, sprint wasn’t in the first three games.

Actually jumping is a weak tactic in Call of Duty. You get one full power jump (and it brings you barrel down). After that, if you try to jump again all you get is a tiny hop. I’ve only seen a handful of players in call of duty use jumping effectivly in battle.

What’s funny about when people say halo took from cod they fail to realize is that cod has stolen from so much more, the ideas that cod have are no where near being original, Custom classes existed before cod, killcams existed before cod, camo’s on guns existed before cod, SnD came from another game, Domination came from another game, OitC came from another game and GG came from another game in BOII they took Multi-Team From halo, games that are new take other ides from other games but saying that they are from cod is nonsense because they were not native to call of duty.
If your going to say that Halo has copied call of duty then mention that call of duty has copied a whole lot more from others, and pretty much every game now a days takes ideas becuz they benefit the community and new ideas could bring in new sales and interested gamers.

People have been asking for sprint. It was in reach as an AA and alot of people used it so might as well put it in. How is sprint cod? Halo= assassins creed because they both have sprint and assassination omg.
Halo can’t change nothing can they? You want a 3 clone oh no they complained about that game too so you want a 2 clone? I can on lol

He didn’t like it at all, most CoD player don’t like the fact that it takes so many bullets to kill someone. He also wanted to use an Assault Rifle in BTB, he thought automatics would be better than Precision weapons, he found out he was wrong about that.

The fact is, CoD is what is popular right now.
Sure, Loadouts may have been around for like 15 years, but no one is going to argue 343 copied an old game.
They copied in the hopes it would bring in more sales. They didn’t just copy in actual mechanics, they copied in design philosophy as well (i.e. make an easy game that caters to casuals).
And honestly, it does not benefit the community. It alienates people who understood what halo actually was (an arena shooter), and it fails to bring in new players because they are too busy playing the games they actually like.
If I like Call of Duty, why am I suddenly going to buy a different game that is similar to but not the same as Call of Duty? The obvious answer is I am not, I am just gonna keep playing Call of Duty.
It’s a lose-lose for everyone where very few new players are actually attracted.
Finally, good games don’t take ideas, they make ideas. This is why Halo CE was successful to begin with. Originality and Uniqueness is what makes good art, not conforming.
