How involved will the Arbiter be?

We all know that the Arbiter will be in Halo 5, but how big of a role will he play? I was hoping he’d be in the whole game, accompanying Locke but I’ve speculated that this may not be the case at all. He may actually have just a really small role, which would be very disappointing. You may ask: “How did you come to this conclusion?” This was formulated through looking at the new Cover art released. It show Master Chief with a team of Spartans (Presumably Blue Team) and Locke with his own team. This would mean that each character has their own team. With this the Arbiter isn’t really needed as he was in the past. People already have full teams, and the Arbiter is likely busy with his own problems concerning his people. He will likely play a smaller role then he did in 2 or 3, unless something big happens…

We already know that part of Halo 5 will take place on Sangheilos, so I do believe the Arbiter will play somewhat of a major role. Either way, I’d rather not just have him along for the ride; I want him to actually be playable. There should at least be a couple missions that allow the player to take control of him.

I think that he will side with locke and then see his true intentions where he will side with chief.

Why do people assume that:

  • Locke is trying to hurt Chief?
  • The Arbiter will be in more than two levels?
  • Sanghelios will be in more than two levels? The Arbiter has only ever been featured in clips that directly corresponded to Halo 2 Anniversary. We have never seen him in any of the Halo 5 promotional content besides this.

I’m on the side that I doubt 343i rehired Keith David just to have to spit out a couple of lines. I’m sure he’s on a high pay roll so, yeah Arby must get some juicy bits.

People assume locke wants to hurt chief because of his “all hail” trailer. I mean he points a gun at him.

He will probably start out “peaceful”, but then the mission will change to “dead or alive” based on what we can infer.

If I may enlighten you…

  1. Halo 5’s Live action trailers show direct contention between Agent Locke, and Master Chief. Thus, it can be inferred they are not allies. Coupled with the fact that both aimed an M6 at each other, Locke saying he has to save the galaxy from Master Chief…

  2. Why would 343 hire Keith David just to have him give a couple lines of dialogue for cutscenes that foreshadow Halo 5? Not to mention that those same cutscenes directly tell us that the Arbiter and his Swords of Sanghelios will be working with Locke and his fireteam against the Covenant remnant.

  3. Sanghelios has been shown in concept art, the Spartan Locke armor trailer, and in the animated puzzle hunt poster. Why would they promote it so much if it wasn’t meant to have heavy inclusion?

I hope my words have proved useful to you.

Wouldn’t make sense for them to bring the Arbiter back not to make him playable

I actually think the Abiter will play a major role in Halo 5, pivotal maybe.

I want the Arbiter to matter, but not to die, I fear 343 could kill him :frowning:

I hope there will be an epic fight between Arbiter and Master Chief!

I really don’t think he’s going to be all that relevant. The biggest connection he has to the story at this point is that they’re on his planet at some point. I’m willing to put money on him not being playable.
