Hey guys posted on the Bungie forums ages ago but then I stopped due to you know them stopping the halo franchise. Anyway I love playing halo its the only FPS game (other then Tf2 and Counter strike) I enjoy however I always have this thing about stats and I feel like its getting in my way of having fun. Which is always bad because Halo should be about having fun and meeting new people who enjoy the game. My question to the halo community is how important is stats to this game I never plan to go pro seeing you know its not my thing but I have this feeling that if I have bad stats no one will want to play with me or leave a game because I have a neg 200+ K/D.
I am always going to love halo no matter what because the community is so much nicer and calmer and modest. (I have revived many messages saying good game buddy etc)I just wanted to get your opinions to.
cheers guys

p.s I am going to expect trolls but I would love to get all of your thoughts! Also sorry about my grammar I am slowly working on it.
Some games you get matched up with 12-year olds, or you join in progress on the losing team, and you just know your w/l is going to take a hammering. Times like that you just have to say “meh” and have fun against the odds - actually some of the best bits in games are when you throw the rulebook out of the window and decide to go Rambo rather than chasing those elusive Perfections.
So, no, I don’t really care about w/l or k/d. But my personal stats, rank, commendations, etc - if those got wiped I’d probably cry and not play Halo 4 again.
Statistics are for the most part, meaningless to me. I come online to compete, not to record statistics. I come online in an attempt to win, admittedly it might not always happens, but when you lose it makes victory all the more sweet when it does come.
EDIT: Having said that though, having some statistics does give me an idea of how I’m contributing as a team player (I tend to play team games for the most part) and thus they are interesting but holding statistics over someone as if to say you are a better player is meaningless.
I’d lie if I said I didn’t care for stats. I do. But I’m not so obsessed with Halo at the moment to lose my sleep over it. Achievements on the other hand… I get nuts over those, I’m currently raping my KDR for the sake of “Bigfoot”. I’m almost there but I’m also about 1300 off on my KDR.
i dont really care much about my halo stats, i like to try and go positive but truth be told im just not that great, i do manage to go positive most games though.
im much better at COD and Counterstrike, counterstirke being the only FPS i take seriously.
Edit* Oh, i forgot about accuracy. If an accuracy stat is recorded it is the only one i care about, and then at that point im practically obsessed because i think its the sign of a good player. anyone can camp in an area every game and get a 2.75 KDR but not everyone can hit 75% of their shots.

Yeah man I love counter strike thats the one game I take very seriously I have not played for a while but I have been in the top 200 in one of these servers out of the 5600 people who play on that server it felt pretty awesome! I tell you though CS is the only game that will make me rage and drop f bombs heaps! Thanks for your feedback guys!
Stats are only important to me in Slayer. In objective games, i usually go negative most of the time but thats how you win. You dont win just staying at your flag and not dying.
