im making this post because halo 4 was going to be the most competitive halo ever but honestly i dont see any competitiveness in this game…im sure falling numbers are due the game not being competitive enough(ranks are a part of this) people are getting on and playin 1-5 games then getting off, not playiing for hours because they are addicted to the competitiveness
this game would be so much more competitive if there was no sprint, smaller maps, slower kill times, no instant respawn, flag juggling, and getting knocked out of scope when shot… when i say slower kill times i mean the gun should shoot a little slower not that it should take more shots… the br should have always stayed as a four shot idk why 343 decided to make it a 5 shot and speed it up…
what i personally think would have been really cool (to really seperate the br from dmr) what if they made this game and they kept the br 4 shots and slowed down the dmr enough to where the br was slightly better but the br was like h3s br and you have to slightly lead your shot but you didnt have to with the dmr since its single shot… it would give the edge to the br users if they were good and able to land every shot… just some sort of skill gap in this game would be nice.
i also think the movement in this game could use a little work… like in the sense that strafing doesnt really do anything for you in this game, i would be all for having the old h1 or h2 strafe back… here a video comparing the strafes of all the halo games… you can decide which one looks most effective…
The super aim assist and high bullet magnetism make the game boring for me.
Halo is just another cod clone now. The competitive aspect is not like H2/H3.
Its for people for want to jump on have 2 games and go back to there busy lives.
Its just a money grab by -Yoink!- and 343. Releasing unfinished games in bad for the industry.
I agree on the most, but slower killtimes wouldn’t make the game more competitive.
The most competitive Halo to date, Halo CE, had also the fastest kill times, but a 3sk with the pistol took actually skill.
From what I saw in the OP’s strafe video, halo 4’s strafe looked the slowest. Could just be because he was on a narrow part of haven with less room, but…

yeah kill times were really fast in h1 but the strafe made up for it, there was no accelerationa and strafing was really effective and even though pistol was 3sk it was incredibly hard to 3 shot someone with a rediculous strafe
but halo 4 has fast kill times and no strafe so something needs to change one way or the other

The strafe seems so ineffective and the killtimes seem so fast because of the huge amount of aim assist/bullet magnetism. Everyone can five-shot in this game.
as the game currently stands they turned the br into a 5sk weapon and sped the rate of fire up… there is now alot of controversy as to what the better weapon is… i think it would have been perfect if the br and dmr had the same exact rate of fire but the br was 4 shot and the dmr was 5 shot… but they made the br shoot the same way it did in halo 3 where you had to lead a little bit… it gives incentive for people to get good at a weapon that has potential to be better, the better you are with it… its not like the br would become op and dmr would be useless there will be alot of situations where people could miss a br shot and now the br and dmr are essentially tied.

agreed aim assist and magnetism need to toned down a little bit as well

Fast killtimes have a problem in online shooters: connection > skill
