so I’ve played a lot of warzone since its release and I enjoy it but I find the ai bosses lacking. There’s no incentive to kill them as they don’t do any thjng to adversely affect the game. Also as I can single handedly kill any of the non legendary bosses that it disipointing. Instead I would make the ai small armies with a leader. The elite general for example would drop with 10 elites, 10 jackles, and 30grunts and if your team didn’t do something they would retake the nearest armory and use it as a neutral base, basicly reset the base to what it’s like when the game starts. The legendarys especially should change as they are worth 150 pts and one person can put one shot in and steal the kill. Warden eternal for example should be 3 wardens ( like in the breaking) each worth 50 pts. right now the bosses are too easy and the non legendary bosses can easily be ignored. What are your thoughts?
I like it, especially the 3 warden idea. AI’s should be aggressive and attacking key positions like the Armory’s and such (Banshee’s kind of do). I also think the spawn order, location, and timing should be more random to prevent squads from camping for a quick kill.
Agreed, and I think that’s probably what 343i will aim to do if they ever get around to releasing that AI only variant of Warzone they’ve been considering. Part of the problem now, though, is that the code is already in the game. This isn’t like Arena where they can just swap maps around. AI code is tricky to mess with, and doing it quick and messy - while it might make the immediate desired change - will probably result in far more bugs and other problems/balance issues than you bargained for. It’s an excellent idea, one that I think the community as a whole will probably love, but there’s still the technical aspect that needs to be dealt with first.
Yeah I’ve been saying this for awhile. AI trying to retake bases would be interesting.
Another idea: If you don’t kill them they set up turrets (in the tunnels in Escape from ARC, for example) and become annoying.
I would also like base capture to be more interesting. If you had to deliver a bomb to capture a base, or capture a base’s flag.
I think the legendary bosses need some work too. They are simply a little uninteresting, just spawning in and waiting to die - they need an objective or something.
Maybe when you destroy neutral bosses they spawn units to attack the enemy bases etc and help you push their core.
Just some ideas.
