How I Think Sprint Can Work...

Although this probably has been mentioned before, I will get it out there just in case.

Most people think sprint wont work because it is unskillful and game breaking. Although in Reach I do admit it took skill away from the game. In many scenarios you would begin to wreck somebody in a one-on-one, and they would sprint away leaving you with damaged shields and no kill, I think it could work in Halo 4 IF it is implemented in the right way.

I think the right way would be to make it so if you get shot, you slowdown to the normal pace. This way instead of being able to run away, you are almost forced to turn around and face your opponent or face death. Now if you’re thinking how annoying it would be to be sprinting to the battle and getting shot cross map once, and getting slowed down. Well, that’s just one of those things you’d have to deal with.

So sorry if that’s badly worded, I suck at English.
So, whats your opinion on sprint?

I like this idea. and lets say the only way you are slowed down is when your shields are droped.

Why won’t you people realize there is nothing wrong or game breaking about sprint.
People will run away from you whether sprint is in the game or not. And if you both have sprint, what’s wrong with him sprinting away from you? Just sprint back at him.

IMO Halo 4 will be just fine with or without sprint. The real thing we need to worry about is the “perks but not perks.”

You can’t shoot while sprinting.

/your argument.

OT: Yes this has been mentioned before, and it’s a very good idea.

this whould be annoying?
and who says it taks skill away? it can give you the ability to survive if you use sprint to a digree of skill, think about it without sprint your doomed to die when double teamed.
also i think there will be faster kill times in this game(a good thing).

This. Honestly, the only problem I had with sprint in Reach was thatBungie seemed to build the game around it, making normal running speeds extremely slow. This is not the case in Halo 4 (as proved by the first look) so I honestly don’t care.

I really don’t have that big of a problem with the Halo Reach sprint style, I just wrote this thing up so the people who are complaining have a sprint they could like and hope for. And really, its not like this idea would break the gameplay, would it?

Turning around, hitting sprint, and turning a corner takes skill?

I agree with you that normal running speeds were too slow. That’s why I would prefer to not have sprint, but I’m not whining my -Yoink- off about it.

The game was very obviously built around sprint and your’e right, that was one of the main problems. I think things like this should be pointed out more often.

hey look at halo 3 that didnt have sprint

The concept has been mentioned before and its a good idea to help make sprint a map navigation tool, rather then a “run away from combat” or “sprint + sword/shotgun/melee” game play feature.

Honestly though, so long as the time-to-kill is more akin to Halo CE/2 days, I really think sprint will work fine.

If sprint is done right, it will actually help speed up game play and allow for larger maps to play tighter.
