Making the 1-50 would be unfair to nooby players, yet using Reach’s system would be unfair to competitive players. We need a ranking system with a cross between the two. The best of both worlds. You receive “credits” or EXP when playing playlists, but you receive the much higher amounts when doing good in matchmaking. Or there can be the credits you receive to buy certain armor permutations etc, but separate EXP you earn from winning your matches and/or doing skillful in them. For example:
From recruit to Sergeant, credits will rank you up but you must receive say, 10 EXP to be able to move on to Warrant Officer/Lieutenant. From there to Major you will need 25 EXP to move on to colonel, and so forth and so forth, a type of system where people aren’t motivated to boost in Spartan Ops, but are rewarded for doing well in non-multiplayer missions. More people will want to play multiplayer more often and strive to do better in Halo and we will have the community we once had prior to Reach back in Halo 3’s day.
As long as there is a ranking system that works well for most-all Halo players, Halo 4 will be an extreme success.

Me too.
What Halo4 needs is a new ranking system different from the Reach rating and Halo3’s 1-50 system. But something which also puts your rank on the line and makes each game seem important.
