How I think Loudouts SHOULD work..

Primary is customizable, however between only precision weapons with greater amounts of skins. Automatics spawn on the map.

  • Assault Rifle gets a SMALL accuracy boost.
  • Storm Rifle returns to a more shield-draining focused weapon.

Secondary is always the Magnum with many skins, others are pick-ups and are more powerful.

  • Boltshop has same semi-auto damage as magnum, charged is unchanged.
  • Plasma Pistol ammo is basically how it was in Reach.

Grenade is always Frags. Others are pick-ups.

  • Plasma’s have bigger radius.
  • Pulse’s add EMP effect.

Armor Abilities are mid-combat focused ONLY. No jetpacks/promethean vision/active camo ect. Those get buffed and are pickups.

Only 1 perk slot. Perks are more team oriented.

All skins are unlocked through VARIOUS challenges (not just ranking up) and others can be done via micro-transactions.

If we’re going to go back to common weapons being spawned on the map, then precision weapons for loadouts won’t work too well.

When you start with an automatic your range is limited, you need to move around the map and fight to get a better gun. As opposed to spawning with a better gun like you can currently.

I remember a long time ago, this guy said that armour abilities should be part of your armour, as in one for one match, then you can change it after the match. I find this might work better than none.

Good thought i always hated the Boltshot but i wouldn’t mind it being a pickup.

Custom loadouts should be confined to human weaponry and gear only. Half our problems with vehicle balancing would be solved right there.

I agree with assassin and lancifer. Though I really see no harm in picking primary weapons at all, unless one of them has the range of the DMR. Utility rifles and automatics are both fine. The problems arise when you get into secondaries and grenades.

I agree with this. It’d be a lot more balanced for gameplay, and with balanced gameplay comes more fun.

It also makes sense to do this as since War Games is canon, it is highly unlikely the UNSC and ONI will allow Spartans to mess around with alien tech and weaponry in War Games.

That’s a horrible idea

WINNER. i totally agree

My preference would be this:

Get rid of DMR and LightRifle as part of the weapon loadout. Their strength in BTIS cannot be ignored. Open map movement is often stifled because these two weapons can damage from quite a long range

I’d be really satisfied if the primary weapon loadout choice was AR, Storm and Suppressor for the automatics, and BR and Carbine for the precisions. They cannot dominate as much as the DMR and Lightrifle can in open space

The DMR and Lightrifle tip the scale of balance far too much.
