how i think H4 ranking should work

here is a very brief and very vague version of how i think the ranking in halo 4 should work.

first of all i think you should be able to have both the 1-50 system as well as the iron-onyx system. here is how it would work. the 1-50 rank would be your rank in a specific playlist. for example you may have a 50 in objective and a 45 in mlg and so on. the onyx style ranking would be your rank as a combination of all the playlists. also i believe that your rank for an individual playlist should stay the same until you lose it while the arena style ranking of everything as a whole should be seasonal or maybe the other way around or heck maybe no seasons. that part isnt as important to me.

the second thing that i think should happen is that the true skill should be more strict. not only should win/loss and K/D/A count but so should things like hit percentages and objectives caught, grabbed, or stopped.

number three bring back more ranked playlists.

This has been posted quite a few times, but so has everything else, so I’ll bite.

I’m not opposed to the idea of having both individual and overall ranks, but I think that the overall rank might undermine the individual ranks to a certain degree. I might take pride in the fact that I’m a 50 in Team Objective, but because I’m fairly low in everything else, my overall rank wouldn’t be very impressive.

As for your suggestion that completed objectives contribute towards rank progression, I still and always will wholeheartedly agree with this point. It seems to me like a no-brainer, and I’m surprised it hasn’t entered into the series before now.

perhaps it will undermine it but it will force people to be good at all of the ranked playlists in order to be the best. also if you have a 50 in anything it should at least give you gold. onyx would be for multiple 50s or something like that.
