How i think Forerunner Vision will work

Now some people are saying this Forerunner Vision/X-ray visor Armor Ability is going to be heaps OP and cheap, but i say nay. I think it can quite easily be balanced:

  1. It will have a rather limited range.

  2. Everything else is incredibly hard to see, you will only see other players/things of interest Pic (i think thats FV)

  3. The images of what you can see are… strange is the only word i can think of, so like it might only show an outline or skeletal structure of a guy, or distance might be hard to judge, or it might be dim, or flickering or something.

  4. The AA might not have all that long charge.

  5. The other AAs will be rather attractive and so making less people want to choose FV over things like Active Camo or jetpack.

  6. It might take a small delay to register there is a guy there, so like you swing you vision around and see nothing but a second later, an outline of and enemy behind the wall ‘draws’ up.

I can picture it in my head (no pun intended), if i was making this AA it would be fine, fun and futuristic and that means 343 will definitely be able to do that.

Dont worry. Be happy.

I’m hoping its more like a quick sonar where you’ll see the outlines of enemies and items/weapons on the floor for a few seconds, just to give you a rough idea of where everything is but not enough to let you monitor it.

You cannot use Forerunner Vision to see players anywhere on the map. Absolutely not. - Frank O’Connor

I hope you´re right.

When did he say that? And i thought FV was used to see important stuff behind walls and such…

You might want to check outThis stuff

Remember with Reach and how everyone was thinking that hologram was going to be overpowered? I’m seeing the same with this “Forerunner Vision”. I suspect it’s going to be trivial at best, and only the ‘newer’ players will bother to use it.

Sounds bad no matter what.

Somebody asked Frankie about this and he answered back that it would absoloutely not have the ability to see through the entire map and it would work accordingly in a balanced way. He also specified that skilled players would generally rather not perfer this ability of others. I have faith in the development team as of now.
