Step One: Remove the shop completely (maybe other than the esports skins)
Step Two: Have all the cosmetics in the battle pass (not including the event ones like the samurai armor)
Step Three: Make the battlepass cost more
Step Four: Everyone buys the battlepass
I am confident this would encourage many, many more people to spend money on the multiplayer. The shop prices are so outrageously high that the majority of people (myself included) don’t even want to bother with it, meaning 343 isn’t maximizing profit from the shop. If they did the aforementioned idea (or something similar), I’m sure a ton of people would be all for buying the battlepass, even it costs more than $10, hell they could make it $50. Or, since some people won’t want to spend that much on the BP, they could have different versions. For example, standard battlepass for $10, ultimate for $50, whatever you want to imagine. Each version would have varying amounts of rewards per tier.
Also, this would justify having the battlepass be so slow to progress through, as there would be a huge reward for each tier.
This is obviously just a quick thought I had, but I genuinely think this would benefit both parties. It’s more consumer friendly, making people more encouraged to spend money and be more supportive of the system. As a result, 343 and Microsoft would get more money from this greater volume of customers and increased demand.
Pretty much just typed this while I was thinking of it, so maybe other people have ideas to add on to this to maybe make it more coherent. Let me know what you think, and if you think this makes any sense or if this is something 343 should look into!
