How have they solved the problem we had in Reach with loads of dull, grey colours and items in Forge?
By dynamic lighting. The problem with Reach wasn’t that the maps looked grey, but rather that they looked as they were actually made from pieces. With the new lighting in Halo 4, forge maps will seem more natural.

So how does this lighting work?
Can we choose what kind of lighting we want? Or does it automatically do it when we go into player mode?

The dynamic lighting works when your in Spartan mode. when you’re in Forge mode and set a command to go back to a Spartan: it takes a few seconds to buffer the lighting of the structure or whatever it is.
Here’s the video to show how it works. Go to 5:34

Yes it was. Dynamic lighting admittedly alleviates the problem though.

Thanks, I’ve seen it.
I think it’s awesome, I just think that this won’t fix the problem fully. There has to be other options.

In colours wise: I’m sure there’ll be a whole lot of selective colours to choose from that are completely more original than just “grey” everything.
Plus they have announced that there will be 3 Forge-World-like maps. So if one palette gets boring, simply hop over to another one.

How is that better than being able to freely combine them? It’s just broken to divide them between separate maps.

I’d prefer three separate maps with different palettes than one big map with one dull palette.
Forge World sucked

true that i wonder when they will add more maps
I don’t care about about differnt enviroments I just want to change the colour of blocks etc. GIMME COLOUR WHEEL 343!!!
Dynamic lighting mainly. Then it seems like there might be more detail with each object, which may make each object seem more unique to each other. Tha tmay also be an opportunity to add more color traits.
I hope we get a good Forge presentation, vidoc, playthrough, whatever before launch.
