How hard is the legendary difficulty compared to other Halo games?
I’m not sure if I should go straight in for solo Legendary or quickly go through the game on a lower difficulty first.
Always go straight into legendary, that has been a tradition of mine for every Halo game, Including CE when I played it at launch.

On co-op, probably super easy with 4 players, just like Halo 3, ODST and Halo 4. Solo with 3 AI? I’m sure it’s bearable, probably nowhere near as hard as CE and H2, where you were alone.
Honestly hope its almost like h2. Waaaaay to easy on legendary after that.

From what I heard some sections of the game are really hard if you are not playing co-op, like impossible. Of course this depends on peoples skill level.
My group is probably going to play through the story of Halo 5 on legendary for the sake of… Halo
Try playing the game on normal first to enjoy story , get skulls and intel. Then try legendary, it is not that hard.
Look at IGN’s gameplay it will drive you insane how hard the game is on legendary
Good, I strive for a challenge. Beaten every Halo on Legendary at launch so far. Here’s to everyone else doing the same with Halo 5 and all those that follow this path of most resistance! I’ll of course hit up the multiplayer right away after, and then replay the campaign at a lower difficulty for more enjoyability and achievement hunting 
I’ll go for Heroic the first time through. I want to enjoy the story and have a challenge at the same time without getting frustrated. After that, I’ll jump into multiplayer and try it out. Then, I’ll replay the campaign with three buddies (we haven’t decided the difficulty yet). In conclusion, the Halo 5 game disc will stay inside my Xbox One for a while.
Normally jump straight in on legendary when I start the campaigns
Its not as hard as halo 2. I got stuck at a few bits for a while but its was good fun.
Its probably around halo 4/reach difficulty

No Halo level can ever hope to be as hard as Halo 2’s Gravemind…
I’ve heard solo its pretty hard but easier playing 4 player COOP
Solo legendary isn’t too difficult, I’m on the last mission and only a few sections have thrown me off. You can run off/sit back quite often and rarely get overwhelmed.
Without spoiling too much, Ooe of the new enemies is tough but that’s about it.
Patience is key!
I’ve probably just cursed myself now, final mission will be a nightmare :l
If you’re going to play heroic, don’t bother. Go legendary or normal.

Oh my god, Halo CE legendary on launch day. You sir, are braver than I. Also, you must have died about a bazillion times.
Always start on Legendary, no matter how hard it is just push your way through.
Mission 14 will make you cry.
