Challenges are still awful with 0 incentive to play objective. The challenge system in Reach was fine… This is just bad
Extremely dissatisfied i hate smite and fortnite for practices like this and now I am starting to hate Halo Multi-player
I love grinding. Grinding is my favorite. Especially when it requires me to do stupid challenges that no one in their right mind would enjoy. I especially love when I get awesome challenges like getting a killing spree in Fiesta where almost everyone starts with a power weapon, thats super fun. I love challenges. I wish 343 would make more grinding mechanics.

This is a joke. Zero to rubbish for rewards, and Customisation generally might as well be entirely absent but for base colours ala CE.

I literally don’t get how they couldn’t just convert your score into xp. Like maybe divide the score by 2 or 3 to get the amount of xp.
I’ve played Halo for over a decade, got my first killimanjaro when infinite MP launched on a stronghold match. One rocket obliterated the team followed up by a melee kill. … 50 xp at the end of the match. Honestly ruined such a cool moment for me.
And whoever thought it was a good idea to launch without an account ranking system seperate from the battlepass deserves to be fired. This is gaming 101, and you ignored all the feedback in the flights.
After you do your 20 challenges each week (which I did in 2 days easily) you can only get 50xp per match which is extremely slow. Needs to be more XP for just playing and doing well in games. I spend 15-20 min in BTB to get 50xp, makes me not want to play it.
My feedback is that progression is only fun when you feel like you’re actually earning something. Tings are currently moving very slow and there is no choice behind it, you just get whatever you’re handed next. I loved in Reach where I could choose what to put my time towards…
I also think that the customization would be better received if everything was earnable in game, particularly the many items that can only be purchased… seems directly contrary to what 343 claimed they would do.
I also would personally be more interested in progression if it would also carry over that armor to the campaign. Being able to customize my armor for campaign would make me infinitely more interested in the progression system.

Honestly it’s not that bad - with the Tenrai event I was able to jump 5 battlepass levels in an hour (using a double xp boost).
The only thing that is wrong with it is the sheer amount of cosmetics that are only available in the shop.
If they made a way to earn store credits through playing and had a predictable rotation of store items (or gave us heads up on what’s coming) then they could keep their current prices and it’d be good.
Oh yeah, also it needs way more armour coatings in the battlepass.
Fracture being time gated is also a -Yoink!- move on 343s end. Expect future events to be exactly like this.
LoL. That was me. To be sure I still refuse. I only bought the battlepass because MS gave me a $5 credit for the Black Friday sale and I used $5 in Microsoft rewards points. Paying Microsoft with their own money.
Also, I think the map packs were usually $15 IIRC.
My only gripe is how outrageous the shop prices are.
It’s a free game, the system itself is nothing to be surprised about.
Without incentivizing purchases, they would make 0 dollars and stop supporting the game. Plus, campaign will be on game pass, so less profit there too.
But paying for basic colors, separating armor across cores, come on!
I feel like these are the most reasonable changes that they could do but i would add that another XP system thats based on performance in game should be added as should be more stream lined challenges I.E. 10 kills with rifle weapons, pistols, heavies, kills with vehicles etc
the sweet spot i also feels for MTX would be half price on the $20 stuff and more items in the cheaper packs
Well, considering I’ve completed all the weeklies thanks in two days, and the daily challenges are limited, I’d have to say extremely dissatisfied. What am I supposed to do to earn XP til next week? Who thought it was a good idea to make it so if you do all the weeklies you’re essentially stuck with no XP for the rest of the week?
The system itself is something to be surprised about, even ignoring the shop and armor coatings. You should not be encouraging people to go out of their way to get kills with a specific vehicle in Capture the Flag. The challenges encourage bad behavior. For example, I read a post by one user who let their team mate die in Capture the Flag, so they could capture it themselves and complete challenge. The current system doesn’t just try and incentivize you to buy, it directly incentivized you to play badly.
