How Halo will end

I’ve been doing a lot of research and I have found out that John is Bornsteller “Iso-didact”. I think the way it will end is by a huge battle with the Promethean and the created, with the “good guys” being the UNSC, ONI, Covenant/Swords and many other factions. I want you to read about the John-Isodidact theory then listen to my addition.

In the graphic novel composed of all of halo escalations, at the end it says that the Didact is still alive. They say what he is, He is John. What if they Cortana is trying to make sure John can reclaim the mantle. This would explain why the Warden is so hard on Cheif, he’s not attacking, He’s testing. All of the forerunners and Promethean’s know who John is and who he was. They know the plan for humans to reclaim the mantle and they know that they need to prepare for that day. They know that a AI can’t have the mantle because they get corrupted by other means(not rampancy)Look how Cortana turned out, the power is corrupting her greatly. John is perfect for the role of controlling the mantle. I think the way Halo will end is a huge war and Chief Battling Cortana. He says “I’m sorry Cortana” On the verge of tears and “kills” her, then the Warden appear’s and draws his sword with Promethean’s around him, They kneel to him. Cortana appears in her old form saying “You did it John, You always do. This was your destiny to ever since you set eyes on the world. You are the one who must rightfully claim the mantle. It has been the plan for years. You, are the Iso-didact and its your role to reclaim the mantle and restore peace to the galaxy.” Cortana then holds out her hand while Chief grabs her chip.
“Just like the old days” Chief then removes his helmet, all Guardians return, All Troops stop. He pulls a pistol out and shoots A flood infection form. “Cheif, what are you doing?”
“Finishing this fight” And he turns to show his face.

Yeah. That’s possible.

> In the graphic novel composed of all of halo escalations, at the end it says that the Didact is still alive. They say what he is, He is John.

Nobody says that.

> What if they Cortana is trying to make sure John can reclaim the mantle.

How does locking him in a Cryptum prepare John to reclaim the Mantle? Cortana seems pretty adamant about letting him out after she controls the galaxy in 10,000 years. She makes no promises about letting Chief take over the Mantle.

> This would explain why the Warden is so hard on Cheif, he’s not attacking, He’s testing.

No, he seems pretty insistent on trying to kill John. He probably would have if Cortana hadn’t stopped him. I suppose it could all be a clever ruse, but it’d be a ruse to win John’s trust in what Cortana is doing by making it seem like she is on John’s side. She already lied to him prior to their true meeting later in Halo 5, I’d believe it.

> All of the forerunners and Promethean’s know who John is and who he was. They know the plan for humans to reclaim the mantle and they know that they need to prepare for that day.

Any living Forerunners are likely still living up to the Iso-Didact’s pledge of non-interference in the galaxy somewhere outside the Orion Arm of the Milky Way.

> They know that a AI can’t have the mantle because they get corrupted by other means(not rampancy)Look how Cortana turned out, the power is corrupting her greatly. John is perfect for the role of controlling the mantle.

What qualifies John to control the galaxy and all living beings in it? His main attribute is luck, but that doesn’t really translate as the only thing one needs to decide the fate of all life in the galaxy. Besides, John firmly rejects the Mantle for what it is, an imperial peace forced on people.

That does not sound appealing at all. Besides, how the heck does “killing” Cortana show that he is capable of ruling the galaxy? Nor do I see Chief going back to how things were when Cortana murdered millions of innocent people, betrayed Chief and nearly locked him away against his will, especially not as quick and hamfisted in the way you provided it here. Nothing makes sense in what you’ve written and it comes off more as fan-fiction than a educated piece of speculation about how Halo will end. You never even got around to providing evidence of John being the Iso-Didact when the Iso-Didact’s geas logically had no real point in time to be implanted in Chief’s ancestors. The Librarian never mentions it, the Iso-Didact never mentions it, it’s just something certain fans assume for little good reason.

If the didact isn’t dead i’m gonna be so angry because cortana sacrificed herself for nothing.

I think Halo will end when 343 screw up even worse than they did with Halo 5 and possibly Halo 4.

I agree, this story line would not match John’s character

You know, I think Cortana inexplicably surviving the end of H4 and subsequently manipulating and murdering her way to the top of a totalitarian dictatorship does a lot more injustice to her “sacrifice” (and I’m using this word loosely, as she hasn’t actually lost anything at this point) than the Didact being put in a proverbial box somewhere does…

Apparently, he didn’t die in Halo 4, and then was killed (or, no wait, “composed”) in a comic (“The Last 72 Hours”). So…yeah, those of us who don’t look into the EU stuff are in the dark about his fate, because it isn’t obvious what really happens in H4.

Agreed! And reading Haruspis’ Wordpress blogs about Halo 5 really drives that point home.

Nothing wrong with that, but I’d like a little more evidence with my theorycrafting. Heck, he said John is the Iso-Didact, but that’s hardly confirmed yet forms the core of his theory.

I actually really, really like that! Unfortunately 343I is going to keep plowing along this stupid idiot path down moron lane and feed us ever more Reclaimer Saga crap until the franchise dies a long, slow, suffocating death and Microsoft shutters the studio; laying everybody off and ruining countless lives. Have a happy Friday!

Well, whatever they do… it better be good…

You do realize that it is this kind of attitude that got every single interesting plot devlopment from ‘Halo 4’, //including Cortana’s “sacrifice”//, completly derailed and in some cases outright ruined in ‘Halo 5’ right?
