With Chief waking up in his cryo-chamber and thinking about what a terrible dream he had.
Ah ha ha ha. So hilarious.

In all seriousness, I’d like to see Infinite start up with Halsey running diagnostics on Chief, chastising him for his latest successful mission because it was dangerous and he went in with his classic devil-may-care attitude. I’d love to see her telling the Chief to look up, down, yadda yadda, then after calibration is done, she sarcastically applauds us with the sound of one hand clapping.
If you’re referring to erasing both Halo 4 and 5’s stories, that doesn’t seem very progressive.
In the trailer he had it off so maybe a close up of Chief putting on his helmet.
Assuming it was Chief of course.
343 said someone could begin playing Halo in Halo Infinite.
In a video by Hidden Xperia, he talks about a mission where we play the most important past events, like in Gears. IMO that was a great idea… but it may be incredibly uncreative from 343 to do that…
Here is my idea, inspired on that one.
The first mission of the game has a lot of expository dialogue. You start as an elite in anvil station, and enter a simulation about the beginning of the war on Harvest. A battle won by the covenant on the planet. Then, the battle of the ark. First by staying loyal to the covenant, you capture sergeant Johnson alongside other brutes. They procceed to knock him unconscious as Miranda tries to communicate with him, and betray you, and believed they killed you, a chieftain goes to the structure where Truth is, in order to protect him and deliver the sergeant. As you try to chase him (but eventually loose him), you begin fighting the covenant when suddently, the Flood arrives and combats you, until the arbiter comes in a phantom, kills the last ones and rescues you, while both fly, sniping down enemies and picking up marines, ODSTs and elites (the ark, and crashed High Charity in the background), the arbiter explains how he and the chief will destroy the flood and the new ring, until the phantom gets to a near crashed pelican with a visible flamethrower inside. Then arbiter gets down there and then rescued Cortana begins speaking. As the phantom heads towards the Shadow Of Intent and it’s fleet, and closes the doors, the simulation begins failing, but Cortana is still speaking. Her dialogue stops having sense and being coherent. You exit the simulation as Cortana starts talking about herself, and her future plans (now in the real life). You now get to escape the station as you see forerunner troops, knights, watchers, wardens, invade the station and kill spartans, marines and allied elites while the base is going down to earth’s atmosphere. You quickly grab a banshee and head towards the Infinity. You see anvil station sinking in the skies of earth and exploding, and just when you are about to get on Infinity’s hangar (while Lasky and Roland talk to their forces, but behaving more like in Halo 4), the guardians arrive alongside a flashing light that turns the screen finally white, then completely black and the logo appears.
What about that?

This got a good chuckle, followed by a ‘hmm, this might be for the greater good, is he on to something’… lol
But man, I can’t wait to see what Halo Infinite is all about. I hope for an open experience, that is someone ‘ongoing’ like a ‘world of warcraft’ like model.
Now calm down, people. Matchmaking should be balanced like Halo 5. I’m speaking strictly for the progressive PVE nature. I want a lot of ‘end game’ on the PVE side. I honestly hate to say it, but ‘destiny like’ as far as strikes / spartan ops / whatever (think how much better Halo is as far as characters / enemies / universe, compared to Destiny. The possibilities are endless!
I’d like a cameo by Shrek. 2 green demons coming together in mutual loss
i think it start on the final cutsene of halo wars 2 with new installation 07
Should start with Palmer walking by Chief on Infinity, helmet in hand she glances back:
“Still thought you’d be taller”

Chief takes Palmer into his arms, holding her close.
Palmer looks up with longing eyes. “You are taller.”
Here’s my serious answer, this is how i’d Like Infinite to start:
Blue team and Dr. Halsey on Reach on a mission to retrieve navigational data from the crashed Forerunner ship. They retrieve it and fly up and out to space. Infinity arrives and they board. John brings the nav. data to the bridge, and they plug it in. Maethrillian appears on the holo-table. Halsey said this is the hub of the Domain, and the only way to end this for good.
Blue team and a large detachment of SpartanIV’s board one of Infinity’s frigates, and prepare to deploy as soon as they arrive at Maethrillian.
infinity enters slipspace.
Infinity suddenly and unexpectedly drops out of slip space. Lasky asks Halsey for an explanation. She thinks it’s a phenomenon the Forerunners called “Casual Reconciliation” where slip space travel is overwhelmed by something large moving through slip space.
Ahead of them a massive portal opens and Zeta Halo emerges. Followed by a Guardian. Lasky orders emergency jump, but the Frigate carrying Blue team is already out of Infinity. Infinity escapes, but the Frigate is caught in the EMP, and falls into the Ring’s gravity.
(In my mind, the Monitor of Zeta Halo brought the ring into slip space to evade Cortana, but ultimately could not. And they dropped out of slip space.)
