Here is how I feel 343 could’ve did halo 5’s customization: Remove 95% of the armor skins, they’re nothing special, and replace them with Armor variants.
You: What the -Yoink- is an Armor variant? Isn’t that the same thing as a skin?
Remember in Halo 3, we had two version’s of the Hayabusa. One with the Katana and one without. That’s what I mean by variant. Take an armor and add different utilities, items, or devices on it to make it more unique. Remember in Halo Reach, every helmet had different utilities you could chose to have on it. We should’ve had that in Halo 5, not just for helmets but for armor’s, too. Different Armor variants are much more noticeable than the majority of skins we have. Now obviously armor skins with the white on them are very noticeable but not very practical. We should look like space soldiers (Magazine pouches, grenades, explosives, radio’s, ammo, etc…) not Space athletes/ Power rangers (Colorful stripes, shapes, numbers, patterns, Dots, etc…). We still could’ve had the same 4 options (Helmet, Armor, Visor, and Color) and we would’ve been fine. Tell me what you think.
I like the sound of that.
The different patterns are definitely a pain in the butt to get, but I will say some of them look pretty cool. They should have just made the skins a separate unlock through completing games wearing that armour (like 5-10 games) that you can toggle through.
