Many aspects of Halo 4/5 art style are flawed in my opinion, especially elites. I do not like these new ugly buggers, and hope we’ll see more of the Halo 2 Anniversary style soon.Indeed, there are a number of issues with the UNSC too. I believe the marines could have been handled better too, although I like some variants. But…some parts of the new art style seem to be natural evolutions.Take for instance, the Banshee. Next to the Halo 3 banshee, it seems a natural evolution. More sleek, as the war is ended, and the Prophets are no longer intentionally holding back the Elites in their technology.
Indeed, this change to a sleeker Covenant was not a bad choice. In addition, neither is the advancement of some UNSC equipment. For instance, while being a little more advanced, one can easily see the warthog is just that: A warthog. It still has that typical look, and has a UNSC feeling to it. It merely has advanced over the past few years. Even the new Scorpion isn’t bad. The main issue with this game is textures. I believe that Halo 3 had the best idea of how to texture the Halo world, as Halo 5’s natural sets look like rubber, while Halo 3’s look like…nature.
If Halo 6 combines the art styles, as many have said repeatedly, we could have a masterpiece of artistry. All we need is a damn good story.
That’s all I gotta say for now.

As much as I dislike the art style of Halo 5…it does seem like the only thing they got right in Halo 5’s art style was the vehicles but I also know they could have been better too. Look at Halo Wars 2 for example…everything seems to be even better, kind of hope Halo 6 actually finds the best of classic Halo, improves. Halo Wars 2 art kind of gives me more hope for the art style than Halo 4/5 ever did.
While I do think the weapons and vehicles do look very good in this game, I don’t like the new Elites or the new Spartans. I also don’t like the new style of human architecture. I liked the style of environments in Halo 2/ODST New Mombasa and the Cairo Station, and Reach, especially that Sabre Launch Station and New Alexandria. I did kind of like Meridian in Halo 5, but the UNSC areas in all Warzone and Arena maps doesn’t do it for me. I think the Spartans would look better if their armor was more conventional and militaristic like in Bungie’s games, and not all of this weird warped alien-looking stuff that we got.
TBH I never really noticed a difference in art style other than the grunts… too busy killing things I guess. I personally don’t really care what art style there is but I would prefer classic just to make all the people dissatisfied with the current art style happy.
It’s alright imo, But Tbh I don’t think art style really matters for games, I reckon it’s gameplay should be more important than making a game look pretty

And why not both? There are games that play well and look pretty. Besides, despite the fact that you don’t particularly care for how a game looks, other people do. The visual appearance of a game can be very important for creating an engaging experience.
Two things that needs to go H2A Artstyle for me is Elites and the Wraith. The wraith looks like a lobster with no legs and antennae and had it’s tail curled upwards. The movement sound of the H5 wraith doesnt sound like a wraith too.
I think that most people like the new art style, but they don’t like how it replaced the superior Bungie style. I personally love the looks of the new vehicles, the weapons, and the Elites, and I actually prefer the new Spartan models (unpopular opinion, no hate please).

Pretty much agree, but I don’t think that Bungie’s style was superior. Something about the classic games’ style just felt… dreary to me.

You have an unpopular opinion there, but I respect and understand it, holding a countless number of my own. About the art style, I honestly don’t think that Bungie’s style was all that much better. Both look great, but I just prefer Bungie’s a little more.
343 definitely has a problem when it comes to art style but the biggest complaint I have regarding the Halo 5 spartan armor is that the colors on the under-suit are obnoxious. The colors in Halo 5 aren’t nearly as over-saturated as some would make them out to being, but the problem on the under-suit is that it can obscure the armor plating by nature of it being the same color. Much of the armor in Halo 5 looks pretty good (with a few outliers), but it’s almost ruined by the fact that the under-suit is pulling attention away from the actual customization components. When you consider armor is only cosmetic and is present to be shown off, that’s a problem. The under-suit causes the player to progressively become a blob of one color which not only robs a tactical advantage but also gimps customization. What’s the point of getting a bunch of other armors and helmets if the under-suit is going to make it so we can’t tell what it is? Whatever happened with Halo 5 needs to be addressed for Halo 6. 343 can do great armor design judging by Halo 4 and Halo Wars 1-2 so this needs to be fixed.
