It really depends where the story is going, and no one can be sure about that. We know that Jul and Halsey are still out there, that the Didact should be alive and that Master Chief is in the desert fighting a Forerunner Phoenix. We can also assume that at some point in the series, the Flood will kick in- but that might not be in Halo 5. So, essentially, there could be a thousand good beginnings for Halo 5, but only one will be the best. We need hindsight, which we don’t have. We know NOTHING We know less than Jon Snow…
We don’t even know if the next Halo game is Halo 5 ffs! 343i, give us our fix already. We need info. Please. Pretty please :,(

This.

This reminds me of a certain cliffhanger at the end of a certain book that didn’t have a proper ending…

I don’t think anyone really believes that cliffhanger. Trying to be vague here…
There are so many different ways Halo 5 could begin. For me personally, I would like a Halo 2 style opening cutscene. The viewpoints would switch between the Didact and John. The Didact would be with other Forerunners now. Perhaps they are punishing him for attacking humanity. Meanwhile, John is undergoing some kind of ONI debrief and or test to see if he will remain an effective soldier. Here, we really see the way Cortana’s death has impacted him. He would hear the Didact’s voice in his head, which would be how transitions are handled.
I would go as far as seeing John without Armor, his face only partially in shadow in the interrogation room. The way I see it, they showed his eyes and the bridge of his nose, let’s see the rest of his face.

Great begining! It needs more action though… like in the halo 4 intro.
> Also I would quite like a big war with the huamans vastly outgunned. Maybe forerunners/ their Promethean army devastating the humans.

Personally, I like humanity being the top dogs now. Gives it a different angle other than “ZOMG SUPERIOR ALIENZ! WE R SCREWED!”
But I WILL tell you this: the ONLY reason humanity is being built up so much, and will continue to be, is because it is going to come crashing down from, what my guess would be, the Flood/Precursors.
It really depends on where the Didact’s speech takes place at the end of Halo 4. If 343i care to elaborate on this, then maybe we can guess how it may begin. This is what i’d like to see - the Didact justifying his actions in front of a Forerunner court, mirroring Thel 'Vadam’s trial in Halo 2.
Halo 5 Should begin in how and what happened to master chief… !
I also think that on halo fighting the covenant is much fun and has an different way in killing them like killing the Grunts by headshots,Hunters, jackals,Elites…etc in different ways !
> Master Chief Wanders
> Throughout desert for answers
> Comes across Bias
Nice haiku!
My idea for the beginning of the next chapter in Master Chief’s story is like this:
He’s in cryosleep for resting after his struggle with the Didact and his Composer. His having flashbacks from the previous games, Installation 04, Pillar of Autumn, the Gravemind, the Ark, Requiem, etc. And all the while, hearing Cortana’s voice call out faintly, “Wake up, John…”
So kinda like a rerun of Halo 4’s opening scene, but in a way different…
so I dunno that’s my idea.
Halo 4 perfected the original fundamentals but looked too polished. Halo 1 and 2, the firefights in the game (not to be confused with the game type) were remembered because they were scrappy, from the get go you spray metal from a 60 round assault rifle or dual smg’s. Halo 5 needs a level or opening much like the outpost in Starship Troopers, like a couple thousand crawlers or so. Give the player a SAW and a turret and tell him to fire on anything that isn’t a marine.
I’d kinda like It to begin with MCs debriefing. ONI heavily questioning him with subtle hints of doubt and disrespect for him. Question him about what happened to cortana then have flashbacks and his voice crack. Then finding out about Halsey. Then he flips sh**. The first mission would be cool to open like halo ce and 2. Start on a ship and the mission is to leave the ship. This time he’s escaping because he’s going rogue.
That’s just my 2 cents. I do believe howeve they open Halo 5, it will be spectacular. Halo 4, to me, had the best intro. 5 will be just as great
I think I would much rather see something related to Master Chief as the initial sequence. Plus it’s more accessible to newer players who aren’t as familiar with previous Halo titles and the stories surrounding them.
