How Halo 4 could be the last Halo ever made.

In a recent article published by IGN, a dev from Saints row: The third has stated that if the rumor of the XBox 720 having a way to disable used games is true, he thinks consumers will “grow to understand”. If this goes through, I, the biggest Halo and XBox nerd you could ever find, will throw my XBox into Mount doom and watch my childhood burn away. I’m dead serious. This right here, would ruin gaming forever. Remember the gaming crash in the early eighties? it will be like that, except worse, because Microsoft would go bankrupt, and the government under Barack Obama or Mitt Romney would not bail them out. All I have too say is, stop this thing while we can. We must do anything and everything we can to shut this rumor/truth up forever.

First off, dial back the sensationalism. It’s annoying.

Second, don’t believe everything you read on the internet. The exact same thing was reported about the PS3 before launch, and I don’t think either company is foolish enough to try that.

it is true that there is a new Xbox on the way, but i don’t understand how that makes H4 the last Halo game

343 has plans for halo’s 5 and 6, and they’re not gonna stop there!

and to the scandal where older games can’t work on newer consoles, that;s the most idiotic and stupidest idea EVER made.
people say that it’s a marketing technique, well i say, that it’s a bad one.

think about it; if people like an older game, and they can play it on the new console, chances are that they will buy the new Xbox along with the newer games.
also, people who have never played the older games, can buy them, and play them, more money for Microsoft

look at what the 360 did, allowing original Xbox games to play on the 360, it worked JUST FINE!

You’re being very dramatic. And drama is one of my least favorite things ever. Don’t overreact.

343i, backed by Microsoft, announced a new trilogy. 3 games. Besides, I doubt Microsoft would let one of their greatest video game franchises fail.

Microsoft bankrupt? Microsoft controls a lot more than video games. If a new console doesn’t support used games, or something goes wrong, its not going to end them. And the government would most likely support them because they control a lot. Especially computors. Microsoft is smart, they wouldn’t disable used games, even if they find a way to do it.

Also, I just read a bit on that gaming crash. One of the big reasons was low-quality games. Looking at what we have now… Halo, CoD, Battlefeild, GoW, etc., I doubt that will ever happen again, at least for a long time.

Dude, you need to calm down because seriously, Mitt Romney is never going to get elected President of the United States. Never.

The article is saying that they might have a way to make it so that once you play an Xbox 720 game then it can not be played on any other Xbox 720 and the purpose would be to stop people from lending games and buying used games, not that they’re gonna block 360 games from being used on the 720.

trololololol

Overreact much?

No. The Xbox 720 won’t block used games. We don’t even have technology like that. It’s a rumor.
No. Halo 5 and 6 can just be bought new.
No. Mitt Romney isn’t going to be elected president.

Don’t believe the hype. Microsoft has yet to try an implement any sort of system to discourage people from renting, buying used, or lending games with its first party games. Based on that, you can bet that Microsoft will not prevent the use of used games on their next console. Plus, the backlash would be horrible PR.

And, of course, their’s no way Romney’s going to become President. It didn’t happen before, and it won’t happen this time.
