How good is Halo 5?

I see a lot of complaining about Halo 5 and I am curious to see where everyone actually stands on whether or not the game is good or not.

Well -Yoink-

On a scale of 1-10 I’d give it a 6. Split screen would’ve given it a 7. A more interesting campaign an 8. More multiplayer variety a 9 (AKA where I would have expected it to be when I bought it). For a 10 it would’ve needed to have some indescribable feature that would have been a real “wow” factor.

Best halo since 2.

In a word?
“Meh”

that suma up H5 to me
it’s meh

it’s not good, but it’s not terrible either

I feel you. For me it’s game to game. Sometimes the game plays out in a way where I am doing good and constantly having fun but not always. Other times, especially in warzone, there just seems to be a stalemate of BR Fire and no advances are made by either team. I think Noctus started to resolve this problem and I hope that newer warzone maps continue to do so.

It’s a solid 6/10. I don’t play PvP games so I only bought it for the campaign so personally, the only part of the game I will would probably be 3/10.

To be honest, I uninstalled the game; one play through of the story was enough.

“Decent nothing special.”

The real shame is Forge is a legitimate map making tool this time around, one of the best I’ve seen in a long time, but the mediocrity of the game itself overshadows how awesome Forge is. It’s like being given a Ferrari only to find it has no working parts at all, and you’re just really bummed as a result because you’re sitting there imagining what could’ve been.

Mechanically it’s a step up from Halo 4. I gotta say though, “who cares”? Why are we setting the bar so low? Just because they’re doing the bare expected minimum doesn’t mean the game is suddenly amazing or worthy of all this blind praise. Seriously, “even starts” isn’t a -Yoinking!- reason to praise a Halo title, it’s a basic expectation of the franchise in general. To be blunt some of the fanboyism around here is cringe-worthy, but to go into that would require an entire topic in itself.

Content-wise, it’s severely lacking. Everyone’s already pointed out why, not gonna bother. Fileshare, Gamemodes, Playlists…all been discussed.

Campaign has decent gameplay, nothing really stood out to me that much though aside from a few moments like the Guardian-ski level. The story was pretty uninspired and really unexpected in a bad way.

Edit: I forgot to point out the Microtransaction-focused Requisition system, which is just awful and should never be attempted again, ever.

^What he said. The lack of a decent UI is also quite a shame.

It lacks too much content to be good

Halo 5 is the best game Ive ever played gameplay wise. It definitely needs more content though.

Matchmaking is terrible everything is random and no: Team snipes, team DMRs, Team BRs and no CTF is this halo? I’m not buying this game until I see this options on matchmaking and they have to be solid no random BS

If I was still revewing games I’d have scored it an 8/10. Losing points for a short, underwhelming campaign and not enough multillayer content at launch. I’ve played ALOT of games in my time as a reviewer, alot more than most people on this forum and it gives me a very good perspective on what is really bad and what’s really good. Anyone scoring it lower than a 7 is insane and ill-informed.

Better than 4 worse than 3.

Solid, need a little more content.

FANTASTiC GAME

It’s great. It has the most complex gameplay of any Halo game which means there is always something you could improve upon in your game- time spent practicing is greatly rewarded in this game. It has a highly competitive arena that is great if you like serious matches and it has a very chaotic and casual warzone mode that is really fun if you like to just chill and play. Spartan customization is fun too.

It’s leagues beyond halo 4 in terms of gun play. But it has some serious problems that hold it back from the Halo 1 2 and 3 levels.

I give it an 7 out of 10, or a 7.5 on a good day.

More content and it could rival Halo 3 imo

Halo 5 isnt good in any way… so yeah
