How Faber could be the ancient evil

If you say someone is an ancient evil, then most people will assume 343i are trying to incinuate that the ancient evil has always been evil, and I’ve never read anything the Didact did that was truly evil. Halo wasn’t evil. He trying to uphold the Mantle, which is a good thing, but ended up firing Halo as a last resort. Therefore, firing Halo wasn’t evil.

So then, what makes the Didact evil?

Faber is the only evil Forerunner we’ve seen, but he isn’t a Promethean, so he can’t be the ancient evil either unless the ancient evil IS NOT who lies inside of the Cyrptum.

Unless…

Faber had a reverse brevet mutation done on him to turn himself into a Warrior-Servant so that he could be a Promethean and basically live forever inside of a Cryptum inside of perhaps Requiem, safe from Halo. He now needs the Reclaimers to come and open Requiem so he can escape. He can then go back to experimenting. He could also go back and activate Halo again just for testing like he did to the San’Shyuum. Perhaps he gets angry because the Ark is gone, and so now he would have to go fire the rings form the rings themselves, which would kill him, ruining his evil plans, making him hate the humans even more.

Faber is still a possiblity. Things from the Greg Bear novels are supposed to shed light on some events in the Reclaimer trilogy, so a brevet mutation on Faber is still a possibility.

Well I doubt he had the Ur-Didact perform a brevet mutation since he simply casted him away to Flood-infected parts of the galaxy and Bornsteller-Didact is still around and kicking. Faber is unecessary anyway, the Precursors are a more likely bet.

not only that it could be in the master chief him self “the old memories” could lay with’n him …he said in halo ce that he could swear he knew what buttons to push to activate the bridge in halo on the level halo . in the book the flood…maybe he harbors the librarian. in the end of karen travis’s book 343 guilty spark says he knows where she is.

Couple things:

  1. Plenty of people have used Forerunner technology without any voices going off in their heads. All humans are hard-wired to use the stuff.

  2. Karen Traviss did not write Halo: Primordium, that was Greg Bears. She wrote Glasslands.

  3. Guilty Spark is dead, you are thinking of Chakas. Spark was one of many fragments from Chakas, but he as an individual was killed in Halo 3.

  4. We do not know if humans can hold Forerunner imprints, making the “Chief holds the Librarian theory” unlikely.

bump this is a good topic its sad none read the books they would know so much more. and could have better convos. sad face

chackas was guilty spark . he also took over the ship at the end of the book and put everyone in cryo sleep. i presume that the books all tie together.in some manner. he went to go find the librarian that is a big deal towards whats to come

I’m currently halfway throguh Cryptum, but I know a lot that the books talk about because of the wiki.

Well, Master Chief could have a geas. he may have these memories.

To even further that, Guilty Spark tells Chief that he is Forerunner. He told Chief that in Halo 3.

> chackas was guilty spark.

No. Chakas during the novel actually referred to Guilty Spark as a separate entity, particularly that he served humanity then betrayed them, ergo Spark was a fragment.

That much is true.
