I know for sure I’m getting Halo 5 day one because of the campaign, quite excited about it actually.
Campaign is why I buy the game, Multiplayer is why I stay.
I’m more excited about discovering things in the older Halo games.
I am very optimistic. Halo 5’s Campaign can’t be any worse than Halo 4’s… or Reach’s, for that matter. It just can’t! D:

I can see why Reach was bad, but what was wrong with Halo 4?
I’m really optimistic for Halo 5’s campaign because of how well 343i made Halo 4’s campaign.
Well, i am very excited. I think the Halsey turn out was pretty interesting just for the sake of story telling. Particularly because i want to see Chief’s reaction to it. Hopefully, they flesh out the Didact’s character slightly more in the next game. As in chief finding out about his history with the flood. That would definitely add something new to the playing field.

And it won’t

I can’t see why you say Reach was bad. Reach had an amazing campaign, as well as Halo 4!

From a gameplay standpoint, maybe. From a story standpoint, Reach did every conceivable mistake in the way to stomp and destroy previous canon, all the while delivering a plot stripped down from core Halo elements (mystery, Forerunner structures, ancient secrets and the Flood). It was as if Bungie decided to let go of the existing story in favor of a nitty-gritty (and very bland IMO) game that focuses on war rather than the other themes that actually make the Halo story interesting.

I found Reach to be very interesting. Matter of fact, it’s my favorite Halo game.

Well, we’re all entitled to opinions
After Halo 4, I can easily say that I’m more excited for the Campaign.
I just hope some things are explained better this time around.
Example: the first mission where Chief says he thought there was an alliance between the Covenant and the UNSC and Cortana simply says “a lot of things can change in four years”. Seriously? Some people only play the games and don’t read the books or look for additional info online, causing confusion for them.
But besides that, I’m sure it should be good.

Besides how very little was explained and most of the story being relegated to books released before, and in Silentiums case, AFTER the game released?

I wish i could say this, but i guess I’d have to see more of a preview of halo 5 to get excited about these. Halo 4 has de-hyped me
At the minute for me, it is forge (and customs). I’m looking forward to the potential customisation that will be available to keep the game fresh, otherwise I may just lose interest permanently.
Ever since i saw the Composer level i must say i am hyped

I think that’s because Chief and Cortana (like those who have not read the books, myself included) really don’t know what’s going on. And, as the player, you are Master Chief. 4 years of sleepy time and you’re confused. They know nothing of the Storm Covenant, etc. They learn as they go, as does the player.
Also, I think 343 is really getting behind expanding Halo beyond video games … which means I have to buy more stuff to learn the story. And I will. sigh
> Besides how very little was explained
I’ll call that an asset. Games shouldn’t go out of their way to make themselves accessible to a cliff-notes audience. There should be some imagination and interpretation left for the player to become involved with.

Not as much as Halo 4 had though.
