I didn’t play Reach for a couple months, and when I came back and found that the stats were now being tracked on halo.xbox.com instead of Bungie’s site, I noticed this new BPR stat. A very general description is given upon mouseover:
> This rating tracks your Kills, Wins, Assists, Deaths and Betrayals across all matches played.
I was just wondering if anyone knows anything else about what exactly BPR indicates, i.e. how heavily is each stat weighted, or any other real information about it?
I’m curious about this as well, but cannot seem to find any good info on it.

Mostly Kill/Death ratio and Kill+Assist/Death. Win Loss seems to be in play but to a low degree. Read previous posts on this thread.

Basic calculation: KD ratio divided by .o2 should be pretty close to your bpr
More accurate calculation after a couple hundred competitive games: K/d Ratio divided by .01934426229
EDIT: New, simple way. Dont use your K/d that covers all matchmaking. There is a different K/D you have when you look at your Service Record. Find you “competitive K/D” then divide that by .02
no, that’s not right.
my competitive kd is 1.43 and my bpr is 77.
buucko’s competitive kd is 1.28 and his bpr is 83.
so bpr is NOT just competitive k/d ratio divided by 2, or 1.9 or whatever.
Don’t listen to the guy who says its just off of k/d. I don’t know exactly how it’s calculated, but I do know that he’s wrong…

It’s not just your K/D… Mine is better than some pros but they all have 100 BPR while I have 93, It’s more about that W/L ratio than anything

If you read carefully… I NEVER SAY it is JUST the K/D. If you look at the full calculation I take into account both K/D and W/L. The margin of error for my calculations is very very very narrow. Full calculation is as follows
( [W/L] + [K/D] ) divided by 2 = R
Take R and divide that by .02 = very close to your bpr
Take R and divide that by .01934426229 also very close
(real bpr seems to be in the middle of those two)
I will demonstrate with my current stats, (because if it worked on stats 5 months ago and calculation still works today than by any reasoning… it is accurate.)
My bpr = 67., my K/D is 1.25, my W/L is 1.41
[ 1.25+ 1.41 ) diveded by 2 = 1.33
1.33 divided by .02 = 66.5 (very close to my real BPR of 67)
1.33 divided by .01934426229 = 68.7 (very close)
Using this calculation it judges my bpr to be between 66.5 and 68.7 (which it is, because my bpr is 67)
Don’t call me wrong till you have numbers that prove I am. Please and thank you

Just to be certain I’ll check it against your stats. Currently your BPR is 76 (much nicer than my 67 btw), your (competitive)W/L is 1.322, K/D is 1.416
1.322+1.416= 2.738, so 2.738 divided by 2 = 1.369 = R
1.369 divided by .02 = 68.5
1.369 divided by .01934426229 = 70.77
My assessment of why the numbers don’t match you very well… I don’t know :-P, but hey, only off by less than 7 points.
Thank you for your data it is being put into perspective.
