The title says it all… How do we all feel about no public beta?
Personally, I want Halo 4 now and I’ve grown impatient especially with the lack of information but maybe 343 is doing the right thing as long as they are testing well.
Not entirely happy. I think 343 really should incorporate a beta to give us a taste of their new game. Then on the other hand its a new game and a beta would kind of ruin a bit of their surprise…then again a lot of us have been playing halo since the begining and to us its halo dosne’t matter who makes it
Beta please. I’d like to give the experience from 343 a shot before I start blowing tonns of money on all the goodies there is going to be

What? I don’t? Then why the hell have I been sitting here for the last 5 hours pressing f5? WHY -Yoink!-!?!
I wish they would at least have a limited beta… say… 500,000 invites. Gotta catch a window to get a code… that way it gets tested… gets feedback… but isn’t basically a demo. Things are found in betas… can you imagine if the nuke nades had made it into Reach (granted they still got dah powa! just not as bad)

But it’s getting tested and feedback from people that get paid to test games. Not the random mass of community they already have on the forums where some love change and others don’t. No one can get a straight answer from things like that and that’s probably one of the reasons Reach was kinda on the horrible side. Too much info from too many people with their own ideas about how it should be.
Feels good. Rationalize it all you want, but at heart, public betas are resource-hogging publicity stunts. That 343i has decided to instead spend that time improving Halo 4 shows they’re striving to make the best game they can, not wasting time on populistic gimmicks.

There’s still going to be a Beta. The only difference is, every participant is a professional game tester and will actually offer solid advice, as opposed to the largely moronic, contradictory, nostalgia-blinded cesspit of flame wars that constitutes public Beta feedback.
My view is they are doing a closed beta so they can get all the results from an open beta with out all the drawback.
Some of these draw back are people get used to certain things working a certain way (even if they may be over powered) and once the full game comes out there upset that things had changed.
The thing is in order to do a public beta the have to designate resources that would other wise cause the game to be postpone to a later date. and i don’t know about you but i would rather get the whole game finished earlier then to get a beta try only about 35% of the whole product then have it changes once its released and having it released at a later date which would suck.
I understand people wanna see the game but it just comes down to patients. I personal cant wait to see what i feel will be an amazing game. And i would rather have it sooner then later so im not to upset about not getting to play the beta.

You’d probably feel differently when you didn’t get in.
Besides, it’s not like they’re not going to playtest the game, it just won’t be public. They’re still going to have rooms of people playing their beta build constantly.
