I have better stats kd and wins to 10 for rank i still get placed lower than the ppl i play with one peraon on my friends list has a kd of 1.1 and 3 out of 16 games in ffa he gets diamond … i get 3 out of 10 with a kd of 4.9 i get platinum 1 … why is the halo ranking system mentally challenged ? Does it not know who is better does it not comopute who did better ? Why is it everyone i play with can have the worse stats and still come out higher than me one peraon had 3 wins and started at onix i have 3 wins with high kd NOPE platinun feels right …? Sometimes halo sometimes well not halo but the ppl from 343 … sometimes…
The rank form the previous season and the players you win and lose against effect your placement rank. I can probably win 4/10 matches in most playlists and get placed in Onyx. Why well because the season before i was a high rank and in my placements ill be facing high ranked people. If i played lower ranks and went 8/10 i probably would get placed diamond.

What bullz said exactly. Your kda doesn’t matter. Wins, losses, and the rank of your opponents are the only things that matter.

If you want to rank up your rank number, you only gain XP by playing any playlist and completing a match. The more XP, the more you level up. The maximum rank is at 152. The only way to get there is to gain a total of 50,000,000 XP. Now do you believe me?

He is talking about rank in Ranked Arena not your Spartan Rank (SR).
But yeah, it’s not dumb bro. If you had played almost every other Halo except for Reach you would know it is mostly a win/loss system. Why would they go solely based on KD? KD is easily manipulated.

You so not get matched based on who is online at the time. You have CSR which is your Competitive Skill Rank so you get matched against people around your level. Even if you are unranked the game keeps track of your previous CSR and matches you accordingly.
If you win against those people and rank up your CSR increases and you will start facing higher levels gaining even more CSR. If you lose then your CSR goes down and you go back to facing lower ranks.
Yesterday i got matched against EG LunchBox his shot and strafe are legit nasty.
When you are unranked, the players you match against during your placement matches are selected based on your ranking last season. It may be less stringent when you are unranked, but there is still SBMM. You are unlikely to get matched against a Champ if you were Bronze-Gold last season (excluding Doubles, for whatever reason).
If you win 10/10 matches against enemies who average a Gold rank, you can probably expect to be placed higher than Gold, because you are generally better than gold. However, if you win 5/10 matches against Onyx players, you might find yourself still in Onyx, because it looks like Onyx is a fair fit for you. Lose all 10 matches against Onyx players, and maybe you get placed back in Diamond, even if last season you were Onyx.
For instance, when I solo queue in SWAT, I typically end up placing low Platinum. However, when I play with some members from my company who average silver to gold ranking, I ultimately rank in Gold myself. This is because the kinds of enemies I face when with that group are lower ranked than when I play on my own.
The ranking system is based almost solely on your rank from the previous season. This season me and my 3 other friends played all 10 breakout matches together and all did pretty well, yet we ranked very differently. I got Diamond 2 and my friends got Platinum 3 Diamond 6 and Onyx 1700. Personally I think pervious rank shouldn’t even be considered. Theres really no point to having placement matches if its mostly based off your last season.
I find lower ranks from silver and gold to be more challenging than daimond and platinums for some weird reason.
Silver and gold tends to either be a land slide victory or loss with most games as it goes into daimond and platinum games are easier generally and pretty even with most wins/losses being rather evenly matched.
Like last time I got into daimond I fell straight to silver and have never climbed out since.
Win = rank up
Loss = rank down
Your stats per game will effect how much you go up or down.
I.e. Win a game with great stats, go up a lot.
Lose a game with great stats, go down a little.
