How does rank affect cR gained?

So I’m trying to find an explanation of how your rank will affect the rate at which you gain credits. I’m currently a Brigadier Grade 2 and I hardly notice a difference from when I was a Warrant Officer, for example. A full game of Grifball (15 mins, no scoring) can get me about 8,000-9,000 cR. I was getting roughly the same amount even when I was a Captain. Someone who is a Reclaimer gets a whopping 23,000 cR in that same time frame.

Is there a specific rank at which the cR rate increases significantly? Or does it go up by just a small unnoticeable fraction each rank? The best explanation I found so far is this thread on the bungie.net forums from back in 2011:

From reading it multiple times, I still don’t understand. What are these “rates” they are saying? Like Rate 1, Rate 2, Rate 3, etc.

Would still like to know.

When you hit the upper ranks like Field Marshall it should start to increase. The reason why it’s so low for you is because the amount of credits gained is scaled down as the total amount of credits needed to progress is reasonably small. When you get to reclaimer like me 25000 moves my progress not even an inch.

The higher your rank is, the more credits you need for your level, if I’ve understood correctly, the credit ammount you receive gets higher each rank. It may not be much, but it does.
