At what point during the brainstorming phase of development does someone stop the madness? How does this crazy stuff make it to production? Better yet, how does it not just stay in campaign? Why is it in multiplayer. I mean, some stuff just has to stay away from MP.
343 Armor Ability brainstorming meeting:
“Radar is nice and we all like it, but I’ve got a better idea.” - Josh Holmes
“I’m listening.” - Frankie
“Radar…TO THE XTREME!!!” - Josh
“I’m still listening.” - Frankie
“Okay, so, instead of an ambiguous red dot that sorely lacks XTREME, we give everyone the ability to see entire players!” - Josh
“I thought you said XTREME Josh. You’re boring me and I have a busy day.” - Frankie
“Wait wait wait…what if you could also see players THROUGH WALLS AND GEOMETRY AT LONG RANGE!!!” - Josh
“Sounds like a wall hack Josh.” - Frankie
“But sir I…” - Josh
“Relax Josh, you had me at XTREME. This ability screams FEELS LIKE HALO to me. Call in the code monkeys.
They’ve got work to do.” - Frankie
I think if 343i just put a “Now XTREME” sticker on every game case, the demand for Halo 4 would be so intense, CoD discs would literally explode inside consoles.
I like radar though . . .
Edit: I also hope Frankie is fairly degrading and calls people Code Monkeys or Skyscape Hippies or something . . .
I don’t know how does FPS games / genre get called the same game every year. I mean just because you do not like this change it does not mean its bad. But seeing as you are a hardcore player do you actually think that would be in the non radar mlg playlist. You just hate it because other people that might not be into halo think its cool. If you want a hardcore experience then play the playlist that you want, I am sure they will exist as there is a classic one.

Dunno about you.
But PV does what Radar does, only in a forward cone, and it eats an AA slot as well. It’s bonuses? It can see campers and reveal what types of weapons they are carrying. And I mean types as is Sniper, Rockets, Sword/Hammer, Everything Else.
And by “LONG RANGE!!!” you mean radar range then yes. That’s long range.
I really don’t see a problem with ProVis, as long as you’re prepared for anything and keep on your toes even someone with ProVis should have some trouble killing you, I’m willing to bet that they will often just walk into their own death.

not true, it’s range has the potential to exceed radar, even through walls. Check elamites gameplay on mlg. He’s constantly using it.
> The good news is every pro player used it pretty exclusively, which isn’t what 343 wanted. They’l go back and nerf it or boost the other AAs.
It’s apparently as predicted, but you’re right, they’d have preferred more use of the other AA’s
And it’d be wrong to nerf or buff any AA based on MLG’s use of the AA’s because they didn’t have the time to learn the maps in and out, and then apply evolved tactics from said learnings.

Don’t like P.V.? Play a gametype that doesn’t have it. Just because you don’t like it does not mean it shouldn’t be in multiplayer at all. Stop ruining it for everyone else.
