Ok, so I’ve often asked people how to get the pig helmet. They’ve often sometimes called it the “forge helmet”. I’ve also heard them say that it can only be obtained if 343 favorites a map you’ve made. But that requires serious dedication, and I honestly don’t think I have that type of skill. But when you go to change your armor here on the website, the helmet is there and the anticipation is nearly killing me. Is there any other way to obtain this helmet? (without having to spend a whole month and a half on making a highly detailed and working map that can be possibly used in arena that is)
No, the Olive helmet is a helmet made to honor the most elite of forgers. The only way to get it is if 343 gets your map in Matchmaking.
They should make the challenges available to everyone, just like the Vidmaster achievements were back in the day. (Halo 3)
But on topic, I haven’t been that much active on Halo 5, but don’t they barely ever add new forged maps in matchmaking? Correct me if I am wrong though.
When was the last time they added new forged maps in matchmaking?

There isn’t any other way. And to further answer your question…

I started playing online last summer and I don’t think they’ve added any. There might have been like one or two, but not more that I’ve noticed.
I’m guessing since the game is getting old now, the team that’s tasked with maintaining the game is only focused on stuff like weapon tuning and matchmaking issues. Because of this, Olive might be impossible to unlock at this point.
I don’t have it either, but I believe it should remain an exclusive for those who had their maps featured.
I think it would be a wiser choice to add another option of obtaining the helmet, not everyone can forge and have their maps featured, let alone now that 343 isn’t adding any maps.
I do respect and love forge, forgers and the forging community in general but focusing on this relatively small community is not fun for a lot of people. I would like to unlock the helmet but right now that’s impossible for me and I believe a lot can relate. It’s not like they will give it to everyone for free, just adding a second option of getting it, or even include it in the REQ pack pool but that would be less fun than a nice challenge. Give more people reasons to play the game.

I don’t think so and personally it looks more like a cat than a pig.
I don’t really care honestly, it’s a reward for skilled forgers who contributed to the game with their maps. Besides, anyone could have made maps to try and get it.
I think that the Pig helm is only rewarded to those whose map from Forge has made it to matchmaking. But if you’re willing to unlock every helmet in the game, that’s kind of impossible because, you know… Challenger
Exclusive armor should remain exclusive; otherwise, what’s the point?
If they were to ever make it obtainable to everyone, it should still be tied to forge. Here is an idea, if you make a map and it gets 500 or so likes you unlock the helmet. There they would just handing it out to everyone for nothing but still makes people work for it.
the only way is to get a map you made or worked on in rotation

Looks like I have some serious work to do this summer then

I think working for it would depend on how many friends you have. Someone with 500 or more friends on Xbox could just send out a mass message telling their friends to like their map, lol.

The Halo 3 Throwback playlist last month. The maps don’t have to be permanently added to Matchmaking to qualify.

Nope…343 needs to learn there needs to be some exclusive items for players as well. Making it so everyone can get everything turns gamers off as well. I wasn’t happy at all when 343 gave out the “exclusive” sticker shock skins to everyone one essentially. Why can’t there be exclusive items that sets some players apart for achieving something? I don’t like the every one get a trophy mentality.

I’m of the opposite mind. Shelling out some extra cash for the Loot Crate subscription is hardly an achievement. But that aside, I think every piece of content in a game should be attainable by everyone just by playing the game. Sure, some of that stuff can be locked behind requirements that require alot of playtime, like Halo Reach’s Haunted helmet. But things like pre-order bonuses, items obtained from totally different games, and exclusive items from 3rd party advertisers are detrimental, in my opinion. You say that you don’t like the “everyone gets a trophy” mentality, but that’s not what this is about. The greater issue is that content in a game should be unlockable through the game. And why do you feel you deserve a trophy for spending more money than another player? You already get the physical collectibles from the Loot Crate that non-subscribers don’t have; is it really that important to you that you have some digital identifier in Halo 5 that let’s other players know that you buy Loot Crates? MCC armors I can understand a little more because getting the Legend achievement was actually something, but the fact that people had to go and buy a whole 'nother game to unlock some armor in Halo 5 was ridiculous. For that matter, I’m glad Helioskrill and stuff was added to the REQ pool, because it’s the principle of the matter. Halo 5 content should be unlockable through Halo 5. You can have things like Achilles which are hard to unlock and take work; that’s all well and good.
At the same time, I find the notion of getting turned off by a game because everything is available to everyone to be ludicrous. Customization should be about pleasing your aesthetics, not trying to make other players jealous. And that’s what the “exclusive” mentality comes down to: you enjoy having something that is considered “rare” because you can lord it over others and command their interest and their envy. That’s a mentality I understand but condemn. I’ve seen what the have vs have-not split can do to a gaming community at its worst, and it’s not pretty. “Exclusive” turns into “exclusion”. And exclusion should never be the goal or desire of a gaming community.

Why can’t the sticker shock skins be apart of the content soley for that crate? Sorry but no every one doesn’t deserve a trophy. Helioskrill should have never been added to the req system, nor should have varients been added. To me there isn’t really a difference between awarding some one that was willing to buy a certain product for some thing and some one willing to grind for something. There can be both in the gaming world. They need to keep exclusives actually exclusive or stop using the word exclusive because then they are just false advertisers. Don’t tell gamers something is exclusive if you are just going to give them to every one later. I wouldn’t have been upset about sticker shock or helioskrill had they said you get first access too, instead of claiming I was getting an exclusive.

Then you missed the memo because that’s exactly what they said about Helioskrill. It was known before Halo 5’s launch that it would eventually be added to the REQ system, and that MCC players who got the Legend achievement would just unlock it immediately.

Well either way they did use the word exclusive for sticker shock so the point still stands.

The last Tim I remember was the spooky refresh for infection and they added studio 17 among other maps
