Can anybody explain to me how does Ordinance Drop works? I’m NOT talking about Personal Ordinance Drops but about the NORMAL version.
Example.
Is it controlled with a timer or does it depends on when people pick up a weapon?
Are the spawns random?(the place not the exact position)
Are the weapons spawned randomly or on a circular order?
Can Power ups spawn with this system?
I don’t know if Bravo or any other MLG player said this before because i can understand well only written English.
Thanks.
It lands at designated points across the map, but it may not be the same weapon nor place.
However, it doesn’t just land anywhere, we saw in the videos that the energy sword spawned at the same place twice, probably a classic setting or something.

I’m pretty sure the spawn points for weapons are not random. They spawn in the same place every time. My only question is if it cycles through weapons, and if there is only a single weapon spawn at once.

What about the time between spawns?
Think of it the same way as how power weapons spawn now, but when they respawn then something like say Rockets may switch spots w/ sniper or something like that. Basically, the power weapons will rotate around spawn points based on where players are around the map. It’s all based around moving player activity around the map instead of holding up in a certain spot and waiting for those same rockets to respawn everytime.
If I remember correctly, it’s like H3 where it depends on when the weapon was picked up.

Well if that’s true, it’s not random at all. I like this.

Yup, basically if your team starts camping around rocket’s spawn then it will start spawning on the other side of the map and shotgun or something will spawn where rockets did, forcing you to move. At least this is what I’m hearing.
this is exactly what i’ve been wandering. because from the footage of the mlg multiplayer games there are no weapons on the map other than a power weapon. I’m not just talking about infinity slayer either, it was the same in both slayer and infinity slayer.
I was lead to believe that 343 took out weapons on the map since they implemented load outs. Example: Halo 3: if it was team slayer you started with AR and Pistol so you immediately ran over and swapped the pistol with the BR. Halo 4: you can start out with whatever you want (for the most part) so other than power weapons there is no need to have weapons laying around anymore.
I’m not a fan of this really because that is taking away ammo which means less chance of going on long kill frenzies. They do however have grenades scattered at different locations throughout the map, which is good since you can’t pick up other people’s grenades unless you have that specialization active.
I’m just hoping that the reason there weren’t any weapon placements was because they were only showing off a limited number of weapons.
From what I remember: The weapons all have set times, but different set spawn points, so it wont appear in the same spot every time. I think it went something like that.
The drops will be on a timer, with King of the Hill style system (perhaps Crazy King), where it’ll cycle through different weapon drops.
There are set spawn areas but it’ll cycle through the weapons at random. But the cycles are custom tailored to the maps just like the default load-outs are.
Ex) First it spawns a Sniper but the next time it might spawn a Sword.
Plus they’ll now spawn by falling out of the sky if they’re out in the open, but it also can kill you if it lands on top of you don’t worry they said there will be warnings. If inside they’ll just appear with a little glowing effect.
