hi everyone, been loving halo 5 so far so don’t worry, it’s not another hate post like a lot of posts I’ve seen but I’m not really sure how the ranking system works at the moment.
in swat I won 5 out of the 10 games with a k/d of 1.13, which isn’t great and I got put in the diamond 1 league, which I was very happy with as u didn’t expect to be ranked that high.
in breakout I won 4 out of the 10 games with a k/d of 1.73, was unlucky with people quitting out and ending up losing. Even though I was doing pretty well in the games and having a KDA of nearly 2, I was put in silver 1 league, which we can all agree is a terrible rank.
is the rank only determined by wins? Does k/d have nothing to do with it? Does it matter how many people have played the playlist? any feedback would be appreciated
ranking is purly based on winning and losing games nothing else skill k/d nothing you rank up by winning a game and when you get passed a certain rank for example going from silver to gold you stay in gold rank no matter what you never will go back to silver
Placement games are a little different than the rest of the ranking system. I haven’t seen a post with exact evidence, but the consensus is that if you loose to an onyx player but beat a platinum one you will be placed in diamond.
However, from personal experience this isn’t the only factor. K/D/A seems to have some weight on where you are ranked as well as what rank you are in other playlists. Example: I won 3 of my 10 SWAT placement games. I averaged +10-20 per game and placed in Onyx. So there is clearly some evidence that winning isn’t everything in placement games.
I was placed in gold tier arena slayer and I definitely lost a lot more than I won.
