Hi guys,
To my memory, I’ve never created a post on these forums, so I hope I have the right place.
My question is - How does halo 4 use all these map packs I’ve been buying? I know there’s a dedicated playlist to the most recent release, but after that, does the game try and group me with players who have the same maps as me in all the other playlists?
At the moment, I only have the Crimson map pack, but I have only played it twice! Once in the crimson playlist, and once in capture the flag, but the rest of the time it is as if it is not even there.
Sorry OP, you just got to get lucky and get in a lobby with people who have the maps.
If everyone in the lobby has the maps then they can come up. Not having the Majestic map pack won’t block you from matching with players that have Crimson. The more people you party up with that have the maps the better the odds get. I see them a lot but I also only play with a bunch of friends that also have them.
The system will try and pair you up with players of similar skill, regardless of they have the maps or not. If all the players have the DLC maps in mind, they can appear as 1-2 options in the map selection.
If you got friends that have the maps, try joining up with them. This will increase the chances of you getting the maps as an option to vote for in other playlists.
That’s terrible - its the same as reach then, where I never got to play the new maps because the number of people who have them is actually pretty low

You seem to have jumped a ship there, maybe even forgot about your own game history. You seem to be playing the new maps quite fine in the few hoppers you’ve played in.
Like many, you and I get DLC quite frequently in non-DLC playlists.
The game does its best to match you up with other people who have the DLC. There’s no guarantees if you’re playing alone because it has to find at least 7 other people searching at the same time in the same playlist who have all the DLC you do. From what I’ve seen, though, it does a pretty good job.

Terrible was an exaggeration - I just got the new map pack anyway, its been better than reach for putting the new ones in.
