I thought that if you were in the top 3 you ranked up? But I was 3rd earlier, and I had the red down arrow next to my rank… so I lost CSR. And there was also a time when I came 4th and ranked up. So is there anywhere that explains how it works? I’d be interested to know.
They have to be over your rank for you to rank up. Bronz, Gold not plat are a little more forgiving. For Onyx n champion, even if you take 1st and the other 5 are diamond, you will probably not go up. Maybe just by a point or 2.

I’ve went down from getting 2nd in FFA at 1900+ I don’t understand it either LOL. I beat an over 2000 CSR player too. Doesn’t make sense to me

no, but it is pretty much common sense, if you are onxy 1500, but beat kids who are onxy 1700, do you really deserve to rank up to 1499? as he said, broze through gold, don’t care what their ranks are, if you get top 3, you rank up. (heck in sliver, i remember ranking up even though i got 5th) but once you hit plat, it’s pretty much 1st place or nothing.

does oxny, count backwards or forward? i was under the impression, it went backwards, with 2000+ being the starting point. and 201 being the end point.?

It’s not common sense at all, in fact it sounds more like you’re just making stuff up as you go along. I asked for a source of the information, not an opinion or guess.
And that’s not true about hitting platinum - I’m diamond and usually rank up when I hit top 3. But sometimes I don’t, hence the thread.

1500 is the lowest CSR for onyx. The higher the better.
I’ve had issues for gold level as well being 2nd or 3rd and going down, 4th going up. It depends on who you rank in game against and their level. Problem is, we still have a lot of people unranked and it screws the whole thing up!

The halo ranking system is BROKEN IN GENERAL I CAN WIN 8 GAMES IN TEAM ARENA WITH A KD OF 7.7 AT 10TH GAME AND CAME OUT PLATINUM 3 … CMON HALO? 2 LOSSES IS A PLATINUM 3 … REALLY ? NOT A PLAT 5 OR 6 OR DIAMOND 1 WITH A KD OF 7.7 AND 8 WINS FOR PLACEMENT ? IT IS REALLY STUPID THE WAY THEY MADE IT MAKES NO SENSE WHAT SO EVER.
I think it depends on who you are playing against. Then again last time i played FFA was several seasons ago.
