I think it works pretty well, not too overpowered, allows you to slide and hit boost jumps and stuff.
I’d still rather it wasn’t in the game, but it doesn’t present nearly the issues it has in the past. Clamber bothers me more at this point.
Perfectly fine as is. Doesn’t have enough of a presence to affect map design and is primarily used as a gateway to more advanced mobility options.
It feels like a placebo honestly, the difference in speed is not really that noticeable, and feels extremely slow at times. After playing BTB, sprint felt a little underwhelming with how large the map was. But its what people want i guess. I myself have never had a problem with sprint in the first place.
Feels pretty great.
I love it. Just watch shyway’s video about Infinite’s movement.
I don’t really see the point of sprint, slide or clamber, they always feel janky no matter which game they’re in, but it feels pretty good to play despite them.

And the toxic comments about titanfall 2

You mean the points he makes are correct.

Yes, the points he made are essential

You mean the toxic Titanfall 2 fans?
“I still think sprint being in the game automatically makes it worse than a game made 14 years ago.”
-Someone in this thread probably
In Infinite, I often forget that I can sprint away from combat because the delayed shield recharge in Guardians has me trained not to do that.
I honestly feel this Guardians mechanic was the one key feature that made sprint fit into Halo because it tied sprint to one of the core Halo features (the shield hp bar). It’s a shame this did not carry into Infinite.
Regardless, sprint is sprint. I never felt running fast changed the dynamic of the dance enough to care. I don’t tend to use it on small maps anyway. It’s there to get me back into battle, and little else. I don’t really put much more thought into it than that.

This.
The game would be vastly improved if sprint were gone altogether but it’s still leagues better than the implementation we had in the last couple of games… especially H5G.
I slid under a plasma shot and killed the attacker. It felt actually quite useful in that moment. Wish I would have clipped it. So it can be seen in 2 different ways.
-slide is awesome, and the tracking of the plasma pistol is no longer over powered
Or
-Plasma pistol is broken because the tracking is under powered
Personally I’ve always felt the plasma pistol was too good. I do like its lock on not being as strong but I highly disliked how it wouldn’t stop vehicles anymore…but…I guess if there’s enough other weapon/nades that do it now…mission still accomplished? Not sure why so many weapon pads had the dang thing tho.

You mean the cherry picked clips that he showed? How about showing someone sliding past cover in Apex to initiate a fight? Better yet, what about a flashy wall bounce? You need to watch pros use movement in Apex before claiming movement doesn’t matter in those games. I like Shyway, but that was a little cheap.
Sprint is too slow. The only reason why people on these forums are okay with it is because it’s been made to be so useless they don’t care. It’s not mandatory to use sprint, which is a bad spot to be in regarding game design and balance. Imagine an Apex pro being like, yeah sprint is whatever, you don’t have to really use it.
Also in Shyway’s video he had to slide off of each ledge to get that momentum. You’re not going to use that in an actual match. Honestly looked like you could probably just run in a straight line faster.
I was happy with it. It’s not so fast it breaks maps.
The sprint feels great in infinite, even though its really just there so you can slide and do other advanced moment stuff

sprint has to either be slow or not exist. when its fast maps are stretched out to accommodate it, meaning if you aren’t constantly lowering your weapon to sprint you feel like you’re moving too slow. this has very negative effects on the flow of halo.
