Do I have to win the game in order to potentially rank up or can I just be top 50%? Any Rumble Pit CSR info would be appreciated.
I’ve read this. It doesn’t say much about RP except that it’s individual scoring. I guess I’m wondering do I have the potential to rank up as long as I’m not in last place? I guess I’ve always wondered that and never really known.
Depending on ur rank and the ranks of others in the game you would need to be in the top 2 maybe 3rd place to rank up

Whether you rank up or down depends not on your placement alone, but your placement and CSR relative to other players’ placements and CSRs. You rank up by scoring higher than players who are ranked higher than you. You rank down by scoring lower than players who are lower than you.
So if you’re a 30 and you place in 7th but 8th place was a 35, you could potentially rank up because you won against someone who was ranked higher than you. It also depends on who you lost to, because if the six players you lost to were all ranked lower than you, you have the potential to rank down.
Again, placement alone doesn’t matter; what matters is your combination of place and CSR and others’ placements and CSR.
What Vektor0 said. But to answer your question about placement, If everyone in the game was the same rank then yes you have to be top 3. Anything lower than 3rd place and you won’t rank up.(Assuming everyone is the same rank.)
