How does banning work?

If you and x amount of friends are playing Halo 4, in lets say Regicide, and there’s no room for random players to join. If you are all legitimately playing the game and not boosting, how will the system know?

This is just a question. I know you can just go play with friends only in Custom. But when I saw a post made by someone who was banned for boosting, it couldn’t help but spark my curiosity about the system knowing if players are boosting or not.

One of the biggest things the system looks for is ‘Guest Boosting’.

-Are there guest profiles in the full group?
-Are those guest playing and getting kills, or standing idle and getting slaughtered?

If you’re playing in a game with a full group, with no guest profile, and everyone is getting on the scoreboard, you have nothing to worry about.

But what if the lobby is full of individual players who are moving to one person, and taking turns killing each other like assignations or pulse grenade kills, etc. What then? Does the system check how the people are killed, what by, what the player did when what happened?

Are you wanting to know that if a full group goes into a Regicide match, and kills each other but instead of your standard match you get together and get specific kills to work on commendations?

Yeah, pretty much. Sorry if what I’m saying is misleading. It’s late where I am now, so I’m really tired.

I’m not saying that I went into a Regicide match though and did this. I just want to know how the banning system works, and how does it know if people are abusing the game. It’s just out of interest really.

I don’t think you’re ever going to get a clear cut answer about this - they prefer to keep people guessing.
As soon as the exact nature of it is revealed, people will find ways to work around it.

If you go in with guests or a party and those players get no kills, points, no nothing but you get a ton of kills off of them then, you are clearly boosting. Iv never liked that the FFA playlists allow for guests and players to come in as groups. I think it should be set so that you cna only come in as your self. So as long as your guest player is playing and not standing there you wont get an xp ban
