Bro, what is going on? This game feels even worse then before. Did we seriously not get a fix for anything other then melee after six months?
This game’s multiplayer foundations - it’s matchmaking algorithms and netcode - are industry worst and ruin everything excellent about this game.
They need to completely get rid of true skill 2, or at MINIMUM separate social and ranked MMR, and fix desync ASAP.
Bro I’m getting the worst desync since the games launch. On top of that sometimes I’ll press the trigger and it just won’t register. Like what is the problem here? What is holding back proper fixes to major issues?
Yeah, I got some audio/visual glitch that basically made it impossible to see/hear. Had to kill myself to end the match.
It completely ruined my first game of LSS and I had a shot at winning too.
This should be a no brainer honestly. Ranked and Social need to feel separate.
I quit the game a couple of months and installed it today to see if the game has improved…
the stutering is the same, the menu doenst work really well and lags, and i had 3 disconnection to the server before i managed to finally play Last Spartan (which is not well implemented btw).
Idk what they are doing… some people say “Give them time! develop is hard!” but honestly… we dont have to, there are other games (and other Halos)
Dissapointed… They dont have the content or the polish, and this is BAD
6 months and dsync is just as bad as ever… Not to mention the need to go through all these YOINK! challenges. I doubt they have very much incentive to fix the progression as the challneges are clearly here ONLY to pad out time.
I could live with the meagre content update if the SBMM and netcode weren’t so unbearably awful. But they ruin everything that has the potential to be good in this game.
MCC feels so much better to play, and those games are all ancient. It’s embarrassing how bad Infinite feels in comparison.
Melees seem to work good now but shot/grenade hit registration is absolutely god awful. Every time they release an update it gets worse.

I got a disk write error in the middle of the update so I guess I’ll take that as my sign to bounce lol
Wondering if this is a country specific issue. I still don’t really feel desync all that often when I play. It does happen, but very rarely.
I usually only notice it when things that should obviously kill a spartan ( direct hit with a rocket, no over shields ) doesn’t actually kill said Spartan.
It’s partially a country issue and partially a netcode problem. Halo has, apparently, never done well overseas because of lack of focus on those regions for servers.
For the netcode issues, I think I live decently far from wherever MS has the servers, so I’ll get a bit more lag than usual. But there’s something in the game itself that isn’t right - even HCS had serious issues with netcode and running into walls, and they were playing on LAN.
Yeah. I am middle eastern USA area. Which probably explains why I don’t have to deal with this problem as much as I see others.
On the steam forums, people that complain about it were almost always other countries.
Which leads me to believe this is a bigger issue outside of the US.
I live in Washington state roughly 2.5 hours from a Microsoft data center and I have fiber optic internet. I experience desync nine out of every ten games. Though only two-three out of those ten are actually unplayable.

Yes… Yes it does. Very much so. I only noticed desync after they banned people in low populated regions from using geo-filtering. Ever since that update it’s just been getting worse.
I’m on the East Coast of the USA and I have problems with desync and trash netcode like 80% of my games even on 20 ping.
The new LSS mode is fun, except for the desync. I literally just lost a match because the server failed to register 2 bursts from my BR. More frustrating still is that the first upgrade gives you the Mangler, which is virtually impossible to use consistently on MnK with the current networking issues
