how do you want the shotgun to be in halo4

I think the shotgun should work like the halo 3 shotgun because it was really balanced. So i pretty much want the halo 3 shotgun with a halo 4 twist to it.

less range please…

JUST like the halo 3 shotgun
Exept a few changes for good

Works like Halo 3, Looks like Halo Reach

I liked the Reach shotgun. The sound it made, the vibration of the controller when you fired it, it just felt like it had weight like a shotgun should. Halo 2’s was like a cardboard tube that shot bb’s that when you shoved directly into someone’s face they died. 3’s was a bit better, but still more or less the same.

I’m pretty happy with the Reach shotgun.

It may just be me guys but did anyone else feel the Reach shotgun was a little inconsistent? With Halo 3 that shotgun was brutal, I loved it, but in Reach it failed me numerous times in places where it should have been an easy kill.

So I would like the Halo 3 shotgun.

CE. I don’t get why if the UNSC had so many bullets before reloading they would change it to less. “I think our marines kick too much alien rear end. Let’s decrease the max ammo for shotgun, make the pistol unable to kill a squirrel, and do the same to the AR that you do to the shotgun.” The CE shotgun is a tank. It’s awesome.

This. CE shotty was completely reliable. Something I would not drop when I came across a rocket launcher or sniper.

Canon was sacrificed for new gameplay:

nerfing the plasma pistol (main bolts are useless and slow, overcharge lacks long range effectiveness), plasma rifle (because of dual wielding), needler (because of dual wielding, which had the opposite effect and made it op), shotgun, and pistol while removing the AR completely. Then came H3 and brought it back, as a pea shooter. It didn’t change the plasma pistol, worsening it’s overcharge, and it just made the needler op while making an even worse pistol.

Although I disagree that the M6C is useless. You just have to unfortunately use a little or most of the clip to get that headshot. I only use it on unshielded Elites for this reason.

Just you. Reach’s Shotgun is 100% consistent.

Its because in the end weapons are balanced around the multiplayer experience instead of how powerful they should be. For example, there is no real reason the sniper can’t have a 10 round clip instead of 4. But 10 rounds would be way too powerful. same as the DMR. in cannon, it uses the same ammo as the AR. technically, they could have made them to use the same clips, but they didn’t, cause a 32 shot DMR would be ridiculous. that is also why DMR is so effective even against tanks. the sniper rifle can be explained in canon (the size of its rounds are realistic in that they can blow holes in light armor), but the only reason the DMR is so powerful is that teams need to be able to counter heavy vehicles even when they do not have access to heavy weapons.

also, canonically, plasma weapons would be far more powerful than they are in games. but they aren’t, because of balance.

No… It’s really not. I can’t count how many times I’ve shot a person right at point blank with the shotgun in Reach, and we’re talking reticle fully on them, 2 inches away, shot in the chest, all it did was take down their shield. Other times, I can shoot a guy from ten feet away and kill him with one shot. Reach’s shotgun is nowhere near as inconsistent as Halo 2’s shotgun, as that thing was a lottery cannon and a travesty at best, but it’s still pretty inconsistent in MP, and pretty useless in campaign (on Legendary anyway).

I would like to see the CE shotgun come back. The reason people loved the power behind the shotgun in CE was it balanced well in close quarters against the 3 shot pistol. The shotgun is supposed to be a real power weapon on the map, and I would like to see it treated as such. And going beyond multiplayer, it worked incredibly well on Legendary, not only against the Flood, but elites as well.

Reach, i got sick of having to stand DIRECTLY infront of a guy to kill him and it won’t hurt if the shotgun keeps the reach range either.

The looks of Combat Evolved Shotgun, but range wouldnt be so big.

With sprint being back (i think) and the abundance of players that get the CQC weapons and just sprint up to you, i’d like the shotgun to be a two shot kill with a longer pause inbetween shots and a 2 shot and melee kill.

Like CE’s, except maybe a slightly shorter range. The shotguns in Halo 2 and 3 were nerfed being recognition, i can piss further than they can hit. Reach’s wasn’t too bad, actually, but for goodness sake, shotguns TODAY can hit further than that, let alone shotguns 500 years from now.

Reach shotgun, but with 8 shells per magazine, and a slightly higher rate of fire.

Again, probably a balance thing. if you want a “reason”, it could be that only at very close range the shotgun actually has enough force/penetration to do noticeable damage. the armor in the game is actually supposed to be rather durable, unless you are using AP ammunition. I’ve honestly never heard of AP shotgun shells.

I would like a remodeled halo 3 shotgun or halo CE

Really? Shoot the shotgun at a wall. Then again without moving. The bullet holes will be in different places. Reach’s shotgun is anything but consistent and certainly nowhere near 100% (just like any real life shotgun).

OT: H3 shotgun but with a few minor tweaks for balancing and such.
