1. these are solo based on my personal opinion and have no verified factual data included.

    a. I chose adrift due to the many combo spots and rendering the jet pack/thruster-pack useless

  3. The Second variation of Grenade trapping/Combo known as tomb stoning falls into both categories so it will be excluded from voting.
    a. (Throwing a grenade behind a corner so your opponent can’t see it & walks into it)

Apology; I am truly sorry to my readersI was not able to use the visual -Yoink!-[gifs] due to the waypoint forums not allowing pictures ;’(Index

I. Grenade trap vs Grenade combo

First off let me explain the differences between the two prior to voting.

A. Grenade Trap;

Variation #1; A grenade trap is where you either give your opponent no where to run or to trap him in between two grenades with no way to attack.

-Examples;

  • a1. Map; Adrift
    Place; Gravity Lift hallway
    My location; First brick before gravity lift
    Grenade; Pulse Grenade
    Tactic; Place one grenade in the man cannon door and another in the top mid door hallway.

  • a2. Map; Adrift
    Place; Gravity Lift hallway
    My location; First brick before gravity lift
    Grenade; Plasma grenade
    Tactic; Place one grenade in the man cannon door & another one at his feet. A good 2 second sprints distance

  • a3. Map; Adrift
    Place; Gravity Lift hallway
    My location; First brick before gravity lift
    Grenade; Frag
    Tactic; Throw one grenade in behind him and then one in front of him

B. Grenade combo;
Dropping a grenade under your opponent/behind a corner

  • b1. Map; Adrift
    Place; Gravity Lift
    My location; First brick before gravity lift
    Grenade; Pulse
    Tactic; Throw one grenade on lift spot & shoot prior to impact or exactly after.
    (Space is your ally btw)

  • b2. Map; Adrift
    Place; Gravity Lift hallway
    My location; First brick before gravity lift
    Grenade; Plasma
    Tactic; Place one on lift spot. Shoot once for good measure :slight_smile:

  • b3. Map; Adrift
    Place; Gravity Lift hallway
    My location; First brick before gravity lift
    Grenade; Frag
    Tactic; Place one on lift spot. and shoot 2-3 times :slight_smile:

II. Tactics & non-traditional applications

A.Tomb-stoning

  • a1. Throwing a a grenade behind a corner and luring a opponent to his grave

  • a2. To be able to predict a person’s action is essential to making this work & or using promo vision.

  • a3. Generally this tactic is only effective in a one on one setting but with pulse grenades it is deadly effective in 1vX situations

B. Spam Tactics

  • b1. A spam tactic is where you trap & spam your opponents with grenades or explosives

  • b2. Spamming is a tactic more utilized in a team based game where friendly fire is off & communication is active.

  • b3. The common application is generally used in a 4v4 setting generally the majority of your team throws grenades at the opposing teams initial spawn.

*My favorite application is on haven when me and a team-mate rush sticky det. spawn and place two grenades on high-street which enables us to get stick det. & shoot jetpackers before they get near the grenades to where the drop in front of my team mate or the grenades

C. Evasion

  • c1. The use of grenades to evade a enemy by cutting off routes & or killing him

  • c2. The concept of evasion with grenades is nothing new but in halo 4 it is much easier

  • c3. To not give an enemy(s) a free kill[fairly rhetorical =D]

Extras Tips;

  1. Throw a pulse grenade into individual charging giving him no time to react and making him a easy kill.

  2. For smaller maps I recommend Re-supply turned on.

  3. On larger maps 4v4 I recommend using a jet pack and the recon or default controllers.

  4. For all other scenarios I recommend Promo vision & Re-supply.

Dear mods; Please Please Please do not delete my guide it took me 6 hours in the hospital to Write and color code all this. It also took me 4 hours to collect the multiple clips and convert them to gifs, which I found out I could not use. :’(.

Also to my readers if you notice and grammatical or spelling mistakes please point them out thanks :).

Is there a individual out there who is willing and able to dumb my article down. So that people will read it?

I liked it, shame about the gifs.
Perhaps explain why 'nades are less yseful against thruster?
As a thruster user myself I find it doesn’t move you quite far enough to avoid a blast from a grenade completely, also you can’t shoot for .5 of a second, which is ample opportunity for a 'nade and shoot?
