How do you turn off auto aim?

whenever i’m in a matchmaking game and i’m zoomed in on someone and a different player runs in front of the one i’m aiming at my aim automatically turns with the other guy, how do i turn that off? i tried looking at controller but there is no option

You can’t and even if you could, you’d likely turn it back on within minutes.

Try shooting your team mates and see if you can kill them - you’ll notice how hard it is. That’s what Halo will be like without aim assist.

Has that ever been a good thing? Being able to shoot your team mates?

No, not at all. If you think that some random player is obviously and purposely teamkilling then the best thing to do is boot that person when the option is given. If it was an obvious accident for let’s say the 2nd or 3rd time then I would most likely forgive them, especially in game types such as Grifball where I myself accidentally teamkill here and there.

I thought Friendly Fire was disabled in Halo 4 (not that I like or dislike that, I just thought that is the way it was)

It depends on the gametype. It’s disabled in some matchmaking gametypes and enabled in others.

What The Little Moa is saying is that auto aim (or aim assist, whatever you call it) is only enabled against enemies - so if you try to attack a friendly character/player then auto aim won’t help you against that target.

Since auto aim isn’t assisting you when you’re aiming at friendly player it’s a lot harder than aiming at an enemy player.
