How do you think Halo Infinite should fully End?

And I don’t mean the base story that ships with the game, I mean when Infinites ends as a whole, when the final update is finally released and we are given the final expansion when the 10 years are finally over, how do you feel they should conclude the stories they set up with Halo Infinite? It is a no brainer that Steve Dowe’s the voice of Master Chief is over 70 years old at this point and doing another 10 years of halo is only going to make him older. I know we do not know what will happen after that 10 years and if Halo Infinite will turn out to be the last Halo game ever, or if it will continue, but going on the assumption that Microsoft and 343 will still want to continue Halo after that 10 year time, do you think Master Chief will follow? Maybe with a new voice actor? Or do you think Infinite will be the end of Chiefs story, that maybe by the final expansion, something will happen that will kill Master Chief, leaving the universe without its greatest hero. If this happen’s what would be your thoughts on it? Would you be ok? Would you be mad? And do you believe if Halo carries on beyond Master Chief, do you think Microsoft could create another hero that could truly follow in Chief’s footsteps?

Master Chief is kind of like the Mario of the Halo franchise. Especially after Halo 5 I don’t think Microsoft would allow Chief to be killed off/retire in canon. Spinoff games like ODST and Reach are very much on the table I would think.

The Librarian’s enhancements in Halo 4 gave Microsoft/343 a lore excuse to keep Chief around a lot longer than an average human lifespan (as we don’t really know what those enhancements were). They will probably get another voice actor in to do Chief should they want to do another game(s) starring Chief.

As for time periods we could in the future get games that take place in-between mainline Halo games (perhaps between Halo 5 and Infinite as a time period) so they can still have Chief star in the game, until they figure out/announce how they intend to keep him as a star in the future lore (post-Infinite).

The Chief finally uses the bathroom and eats.

Cortana destroyed, more specifically a fragment of her helping you destroy her evil side.

I think redeeming her would be less impactful. Chief continues on after this becoming a more complete human due to this loss.

Master chief becoming a trainer like Mendez for newer spartans

The guy can’t live forever. I think Infinite is a great opportunity to introduce or develop characters to potentially take Chief’s place.

Eh I don’t know, a part of me don’t like the notion of Chief retiring because I more so feel the universe would not let him. Even if he topples the Banished, defeats the Flood for good, and spreads fear throughout the universe to deter future Covenant or Banished remnants to rise once again, I still feel he would be a heavy target for those few out there angered by the lose of their power structure they once had, and I feel Cheif will always have a target on his head in some form or fasion. So to me, if it ever came to the end of his character arch, then he should have either a ‘‘Hero’s death’’ or “Go missing in action” one of those two would be more suitable then him sitting in a gym training the next generation of Spartans.

Chief seeing the ghosts of all his Spartans, Jacob and Miranda Keyes, and Johnson, like how Kurt went out in Ghosts of Onyx.

Only for Chief to wake-up on Earth in a hospital bed, with 3rd degree burns, amputated legs, helmet fused to his face, and Blue Team in casual wear expecting the worse. He’s alive, but combat is over.

I hope nothing like that ever happens D:

It will not properly end. 343 stated that Halo: Infinite will be a platform (live service game in other words) that will last 10 years. So they want to continually add content to the story as time goes on. They can’t do that if they fully conclude the campaign story. Expect cliffhanger endings.

Which is not necessarily a bad thing. We all as Halo fans want more singleplayer story content. But I have my suspicions that 343 will go the Rockstar route and care more about online only content. Just like Rockstar with GTA: Online and cancelling singleplayer story DLC plans in favour of that.

Live service is a dirty word, and in majority of cases produces lower quality content revolved around in app purchases (microtransactions) and only online content.

Chief takes off his helmet and he is Buck. As he became Master Chief he got sent back in time.

Honestly I would much rather something like that (minus the 3rd degree burns and amputated legs) as something for a launch trailer or maybe the opening of the game, only instead of a hospital bed, its Chief floating in space like he was in the Hope trailer, and its lines of popular dialog that has been said to him over all the Halo’s.
