How do you think Halo 4's campaign compares?

Halo 4’s campaign was great, I think we all can agree.

Personally, I think that Halo 2 and 3 were more ‘mystifying’ I also think that Halo 2 had the most interesting and fun gameplay. Reach and ODST had more ‘intimate’ storylines.

Halo 4 is slightly less that I expected but I still love it.

Opinions?

Halo 4 has the best storyline, but the missions aren’t that memorable.
‘Halo’ on Halo 3 is my favourite mission to date.

343’s idea of a good campaign.

Find and press (buttons/switches) to (unlock/activate) a (door/portal). Repeat.

Uh, on topic. H4 campaign doesn’t compare. Here’s my list for memorable campaigns.

H1, H3, H2, HR, H3:ODST, HWARS, HLegends (the dvd that doesn’t even have gameplay), then H4.

In that order.

It was good, they went way over the top in some scenes were it seemed forced. The QTE seemed tacked on.

I thought it was brilliant. Sure the button pressing was dumb, I didn’t like the transitions of some of the cut scenes, and the final “battle” could have been better.

Otherwise it was an amazing campaign for sure. The writing, pacing, combination of new/old Halo mechanics and layouts, and the ending were all AAA in my book.

I liked Halo 4 more than previous Halo’s. I do wish they make the game a bit longer so it’s less cramped next time. The story was moving so fast I was getting lost.

Also, the obvious: quit with the clear room then place Cortana in console deal. I don’t know how you could release a game in which you literally do the same thin almost a hundred times.

The campaign in halo 4 was decent. The biggest problem is that u don’t face the main antagonist in the end. Through the whole game I was hoping and preparing to battle the for runner guy at the end but 343 decided to give u a series of cut scenes and timed button pressing .

I’m pretty satisfied with the Halo 4 ca,paign. Yes, the button pressing was a little excessive, but the missions were beautiful, exciting, and quite diverse (aside from the button pressing…). The story is great, and lives up to the other halo story lines in my opinion. It doesn’t match up to Halo 3 which is to date my favorite campaign, but it puts Reach in its place.

I see the Halo 4 being quite memorable. It’s definitely one of my favorites.

for me it might be the best but the music doesn’t help

For me, noting will compare to ODST…

It was a good story with an amazing setting.

After ODST it would be:

H3
H1
H4
H2

In my opinion it was better than Reach, but not as good as 3. I would have liked more sections where you are just free to drive around in vehicles. The parts where you could get in a warthog seemed really linear compared to Halo 3, or even Reach. The story was fantastic and emotional, the final battle was crap and the cutscenes were really well done. The new enemies are great as well. Overall, it was great.

It was fun to play through, but the story was badly explained (and in places didn’t make sense) and there were no real ‘memorable’ moments. The only part I’d go back and play through again just for the fun of it is the flight sequence on Midnight, and even that was a ‘learn the right path’ deal.

I enjoyed the six hours of shooting things, and the cutscenes looked very pretty. Unfortunately that’s not all I look for in a campaign.

I loved the campaign and the overall story.

Halo 4 is a story that focuses on the relationship between the Chief and Cortana.

This is not to say that important stuff like saving Earth is not happening. But the focus is clearly on that relationship.

I liked that.

The chief saved the galaxy in the first trilogy. Unless he saves the entire universe, he simply cannot top the epicness in terms of scale.

Him saving his own humanity, or perhaps even Cortana…

That is an interesting story…
