Hay this is my first post and I’m not good at keeping up with halo news but I want to hear your thoughts on the matter of how cortana will be involved in halo infinite if at all. If I spelled any of this wrong I’m sorry
It’s too early to tell I’d rather wait till we get more information.
I don’t know how she will be handled in Infinite. They cannot just ditch the entire Created thing from the 5th game but they also cannot leave the character as is. Halo 5 Cortana is overall an unpopular character.
Im seeing alot of speculation that she’s this “Harbinger” mentioned by the banished in the gameplay trailer and I find that to be somewhat agreeable.
I think if something were to happen to the Prometheans that makes them less useful as an army; hired mercs like the Banished would be a good, albeit cheap, way to refocus the character and bring back Covenant style enemies.
She might be mentioned but I don’t think she’ll play a huge role. Perhaps in a later DLC or something.
If I recall correctly there was an article Q&A that had one question about the Harbinger, and they responded that they’d play a bigger part in the later half of the game.
If the Harbinger is Cortana, I’m interested to see what they provide for her and the Created this time around. The galaxy’s changed a bit with her presence and 343 has a fair bit of explaining to do, especially with the Banished-Harbinger alliance.
I trust we’ll get most answers to the story during the campaign, but as of now we’re left to speculate
Maybe she has became the next gravemind
I’m expecting it to follow a CE route and have the created (cortana) be what the flood was in CE. They show up midway or at the latter half of the game and take full centre stage. But the banished are still present, hopefully with a larger roll instead of how the covenant were treated in CE.

I think it’s trying to be lead that way. What I’m saying is that I don’t think the trailers we’ve gotten have shown us more then just a few hours of what’s going on. Everything we’ve seen seems to take place in only a few hours given the locations and times of day.
There’s no way that Cortana just gets wrapped up in a few levels either before or after the Banished arc (can I get an F for Jul?) She’s just such a big… no massive plot point that could literally shape the intire technological advancement of the galaxy. The fact that she’s just a prominent voice in some of the trailers narrating over everything tells me she’s being set up for something big to happen, and 343 doesn’t want us to see it yet.

Considering the Discover Hope trailer ended with her monologue, and Chief walking up to something blue, I’d say that there’s a pretty good chance she’s in the main game.
This is just my opinion with very little to back it up.
I think their are two Cortanas. The first Cortana (Good Cortana) is currently imprisoned by the second Cortana (Bad Cortana). Chief will discover this and try to save her through continued DLC’s.
I think that would be cool!
I also would like to request 343 use halo 4 Cortana. She was potrayed perfectly. Dialog was fantastic! Look was on point! Emotions all over the place!
Halo 5 Cortana was bad. Like totally missed the mark. Made me not care about her.

I always thought that it wasn’t really her but perhaps the didact or something else controlling her but it seems to be her, I hope they don’t forget about her but I also think 343i took the criticism to Halo 5’s story very seriously and may just ignore her completely and end the story in a book or a DLC but then again the game is taking place on the same ring from the Halo 5 legendary ending no? so there’s that.

The game could have us going around collecting “pieces” of her on the ring, which look like the blue aura we see in the Discover Hope trailer. Maybe the Chief needs to reconstruct her to find out what she did with Infinity or how to stop what the Banished are after. It would be nice if once you got her trapped on that helmet cartridge, she expressed the slightest bit of regret and tried to make things right.
If they need a new evil wielder of the sentinels and prometheans, they could always bring back Governor Sloan or the Didact.

If they could defeat those huge Guardians, let alone a dozen of them, that’s an impressive feat.
Now that Infinite is delayed for another year, we’ll have more time to speculate and come up with wild and crazy theories on what will happen or what happened to them.
