How do you tell why you where banned?

So I got a ban for a week not being allowed to use my in game chat. Problem is I dont know why. It gives a list of resons why I MIGHT be banned but not why I was. Anyway to find out why I was banned?

Well, you should’ve received a message at the start of the game, indicating why you got banned. Usually when your voice banned (which i think is ridiculous to have in Halo 4), it happens when everyone mutes you.

> What types of actions can result in a ban?

> Types of violation include, but are not limited to, the following example actions:
>
> Manipulating network conditions to give yourself an advantage, or to the detriment of the experience for other players.
> Modifying your Xbox 360 hardware or game software and services in any way.
> Skill, EXP, or credit boosting, deleveling, idling through games, cheating, habitual quitting or any other type of unsociable and unsportsmanlike behavior.
> Impersonating a 343 Industries or Microsoft employee on Xbox LIVE with intent to defraud or cause harm to other players.

also by you in game chat you mean you can’t use your headset? as if you are muted?

I’m very disappointed with the BAN FAQ, b/c it doesn’t have more than the prev. thread, lol.

I saw that list at the start of the game. I want to know what one it was from. I didnt mod my box or cheat in anyway. I think it might be when I played with my 3 sons (ages 8, 11, and 12). If thats the case, because my skill is higher then theirs…well thats just too bad. I am not going to stop playing with them. I hope that is not the reson. Its not like I carrie them to victory every time. I can see getting banned from playing all together if this is the case…and that sucks.

Voice Bans aren’t covered by the FAQ for whatever reason.
When you’re voice banned, you are automatically muted to other people IIRC, you can still talk to others but they have to unmute you first. Then again, I wouldn’t know as they don’t even mention it in the FAQ.

Voice bans are community controlled, if you received X mutes in X time, you will receive one.

As for the values of X, we also don’t know that either because once again, no mention of it in the FAQ.

Do you have a kinect, and if so, was it on? That things transmits voice, so it’s possible it picked up a lot of back round ambiance.

Most of the time I dont even talk unless someone else has a mic…or Im in there with friends and we are talking.

Like I said, if X people mute you in X time, you will get voice banned. It doesn’t matter if you’re actually talking or not.

It is a silly ban and shouldn’t work like that at all

I do but I use a headset. My friends have not had any problem with the sound.

Ahh ok. well thank you very much for the reply. That is a horrible policy specially since it is not even listed in the post as a possible offense!! Its also something you cant controll…like I said I dont even really talk on there. Again thanks for the reply little Moa and everyone else.

EDIT: Nevermind, I’m dumd. Ignore me.
