Without jumping on the plants, I see people literally run up and it looks like jump and maybe use the zoom-in aim feature. But I can never get high enough, how do you make the higher jumps in this game?
I watched a replay even and the thruster wasn’t even used.
If you’ve seen it in a recent game, you can go back and watch the theater recording of that game. Change the camera to that player’s view to get a better idea of what they did.
I sprint up, jump, then engage stabilizers with zoom at the very peak of my jump. Then while in mid-air, begin to crouch repeatedly and hold A while looking slightly above the ledge. You really have to get the timing just right and it doesn’t work for me every time. And the reason you must press crouch repeatedly while stabilizers are engaged is because you will actually ascend for a moment instead of descending. Sounds weird but it’s real.
If you check out Ninja’s Twitch Stream he does some tips for players. Many of which are trick jumps like this. I learned a few cool jumps on Rig and Fathom watching it. I’m trying to practice Snipedown’s thrust from bottom to bridge on Truth. I should post that on Youtube under “Epic Trick Jump Fails.”
You don’t even need to spam crounch, just go towards, jump, stabilize and crounch at the same time and this is it. (i don’t know what controller scheme you’re using but bumper jumper helps, just hold LB, press right joystick and hold left joystick at the same time)

I guess it’s like saying everyone gets to use steroids during the Olympics. It actually makes a more even competition. Being able to beat a person on an even playing field makes you a better player. Not sure about the one player who can get their hands on steroids

I guess it’s like people at the Olympics practice too, OMG!! It just seems like you are making a point about balance with a lot of ignorance.
So is what you are saying that people who first discover the jump combos are cheating and unbalancing the game by using skill or practice??
Because if that is so and the game were to be perfectly balanced then how would anyone ever win without luck… Oh wait maybe skill and practice!!!

I’ve some times thought that with some tips on YouTube and that they are giving out some misinformation to people looking for tips. Some channels have even gave polar opposite tips to what they’ve stated before.

Depending on the situation some times these do get counted as cheating or exploiting. Because they use pathing options that the map wasn’t designed for and people have been kicked out of comps for it. When it’s the maps falt not the person.
Thrust power jumps are used a lot by people but in some ways it can be unfair cause to manage some of them you need perfect connection to servers it just adds to the US privilege. Or at least consistant latency is variable then it becomes difficult to judge the timing.
They removed the perfect power slide but not the thrust power jumps which are pretty similar in terms of OP movement.

To imply that Stabilize Jumps are exploits or cheating is just pure ignorance… 343 has released videos by the internal pro team showcasing this ability, it was an intentionally implemented/designed mechanic… and personally, I think it’s brilliant.
If you’re going to have a mechanic like Clamber to ease movement, it’s great that they at least implemented a more skill-based Clamber mechanic to reach higher/farther than usual ledges.
Maps were designed, in parts, to accommodate this mechanic. Note the sandpit on Riptide, where you can sprint up the embankment, and jump to Top Tree to your right… Stabilize Jumps are essentially the new Crouch Jump.

I didn’t say stabilised jumps I said thrust jumps. The jumps from thrusting objects/walls to launch your self in the same way as perfect power slides that used to work.
Don’t know about sand trap I’ve probably only had it 3-5 times. I always thought of crouch clamber as being like crouch jump.

Thrust jumps are just expanded meta… not cheating.
One of many types of movement that contributes to H5’s skill-gap. Power Slides were an obvious bug that allowed players to move way faster than intended, but Thrust jumps are fair game.

I didn’t say it was cheating. I just stated what people have been banned for using them to access areas not meant to be accessed.
The only difference is vertical and horizontal. If the connection/latency is consistent enough the speed at which you launch can be similar.
You say skill gap I say unfair gap dependant on connection. Christ, Competive ideology complained about jetpack being OP but thrust jumps are stronger in terms of speed (depending on location), and limited sound. They basicly made the thing they complained about people doing being more exclusive.
I feel it is completely wrong to say perfect power slides were wrong but be ok with thrust jumps. The perfect power slides made more sense than thrust jumps. I think they are both fair game but it’s unbalanced to make it have the “skill gap” that it does. I can do them fine but most games it doesn’t work cause of latency. The same can be said with man cannon thrusting. I’m also talking about latency when the tricks are the only thing not working.
There are three ways to get up to the sneaky to plaza: You can stabilize jump up to i (spelling may be of trying to rush), you can jump on to the box in the sneaky if you blow up the barrels then clamber in, or you can jump on the plant pots and clamber up.
